One of my best male friends is gay, and he received the same sort of response whilst we were still in school. He'd get the boys in our year calling him every name under the sun, and it was incredibly upsetting. He never let them show that it was getting to him, but I could tell it was. It got to the stage where he just stopped coming into school. It's been two years since all of this, and now the main people who would say things have left, or realised that their homophobic abuse doesn't affect him anymore, because in a way, it's made him stronger, My school/ sixthform have recently had assemblies on homophobia; gay marriages; we celebrated one month with rainbow flags in our school, with all pictures of gay and lesbian icons.
I don't really know what my point is.. So I'm going to stop rambling
