I love the day of silence! my school is doing it on the 30th because we don't have school the 25th. WARNING, I got an email from GLSEN (gay, lesbian, and straight education network) about the rights of students on the day of silence:
1. You DO have a right to participate in Day of Silence and other expressions of your opinion at a public school during non-instructional time.

2. You do NOT have a right to remain silent during class time if a teacher asks you to speak.

3. Your school is NOT required to "sponsor" Day of Silence.

4. Students who oppose Day of Silence DO have the right to express their views, too.
"Be who you are and say what you feel-those who mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind."
