i think the main problem in this country is that people are automatically brought up into christianity, i think we should be educated about the different religions with an unbiased view and left to make our own choice. i ws brought up catholic and hated it, i knew it was the wrong path, some people just hate religion altogether because of their experiences with christianity and drop it, but others like me go in search for another path. i'm now a happy spiritualist.

I'm 'CAP'...(Christian and Proud!)

I love being it, because I just feel that it's the right way for me...yes, people say that you can't be gay/bisexual AND Christian, but I am...so, that proves them wrong! I just got done watching a movie about "gays" vs "the church", and it seemed like both sides were not on the right page. "The church" seemed to be upset about this kid going to prom with his boyfriend, and they made too much of a fuss about it! The "gays" wanted to sue, and almost put down the church.

How I see it is that the world should just accept people's beliefs as well as their physical features (skin color, sexual orientation, height, etc...). It just seems as if everyone would be more happy if they lived together...I...Want...Peace!

I have been Wiccan now for 3 years, before that I did not belive in any relligion at all even though I was chrisaned (not sure about the spelling of that) I was brought up to be christian util I was 5 but at such a young age I could not understand relligion and thus did not have any actual belife as the consept of relligion at that age just went way over my head. Then when I moved here to France my Gran was no longer draging me off to church evry Sunday as she does not live here so couldnt thus I spent the next 7ish years without a single thought about relligion.

I am very open and intrested to hear what others have to say about their own relligion an dbelive everyone should be entitled to following their own faith and belive whatever they wish to belive.

I'm not sure exactly what I am. I think I'm in a transition phase. For most of my life I was a Christian, but after a while I realized I just couldn't take it any more. My folks still consider themselves Christian though, so we don't really discuss religion too often at my house (at the risk of starting a very nasty argument). Anyway, for all intents and purposes, when people ask me what my religion is, I tell them I'm agnostic. It's the closest thing to my situation, I guess, even though I do believe in a lot of things that could classify as "new age" (like astrology, tarot cards, & candle meditation). Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually...

Hmm.

I was raised sort of Roman Catholic. Sort of meaning my mother went through religious phases where she'd drag me and my sister to church and then we wouldn't go for five years. Can really screw a kid up. She's been talking about having me confirmed lately and it really FREAKS ME OUT. I just can't believe in the Christians's idea of God anymore and tying myself to a religion I can't support makes me feel a little sick. It's not even about the whole "EVIL! YOU LIKE OTHER GIRLS!" thing.

I am actually just a Wiccan wanna be. I don't take part in the more spell/magik part of the religion (hense the wanna be bit) but I do believe in the Rede, the god and goddess and all of the basic premises of Wiccan as a religion. It just seems so Earthy and calming. No hell, just reincarnation. Now that I can believe in. My room is just full of crazy candles, incense, my very precious runes (orange stones! PRETTY!), herbs (a shelf of them) and these pretty necklaces my friend gave me (all though I more wear them, I guess).

So...Wiccan Catholic? Scary thought, that.

I'm Catholic, but I don't follow most of the church's teachings. Mainly I'm Catholic for the Social Justice teachings, and the idea of loving your neighbor. I think it's about believing in something, and that something for me is a greater good. The core message of Catholicism is that greater good for me...the vessel (the Church) isn't that great, but what can I do?

Ba'Hai- It focuses on the importance of all the worlds religions, cultures and people. It also allows to pick apart other religions, and take what I want, and leave what i don't.

It also has no ceremonies, or rites. Simply be, and you are. Their HQ is the Lotus Temple. Google it.

I was raised in a Catholic family and I would not give up my religion. So many people think homosexuality is a sin but they are all wrong!! It is not a sin!!!! Can't they see that God made people to be straight, bi, gay or lesbian!!! Sheesh that is what I hate about anti-gays. Also, I have a very religious friend who is Christian and she accepted me for who I was. So if a priest or some freakin' person who thinks being gay is wrong, tell him/her that God brought me like this as he has brought you. Besides, we are all God's children and he loves us all. Also many of you who believe that the Bible condemns homosexuality, it doesn't. It just condemns rape and having sex with angels. So if you gave up your religion because of that, don't worry God does not hate you. What he hates is what people have done to gays.

I am Jewish, and i love my religion. it isnt too unwelcoming to the glbt community, and there's even a synagoge where i live thats very open to GLBT. (my dad doesnt like going there... but screw him!)

i dont like ppl who still believe their religion word for word. (its those ppl who think homosexuality is a sin and not natural.) homosexuality is so natural that all turkeys and girraffes are bisexual and all aphids (little bug-things) are lesbian. (there are no male aphids scientists still dont know how they reproduce. one of lifes little mysteries.)

My Religion is i guess Catholic. I cant really say, because in the past i lost faith, because there are so many differnt opinions, and stuff like that. But let me say that i do believe in god. I've doubt it before, but i believe and have faith for him. I guess my faith grew just in the past month of July. I was a camp counselor at a catholic bible camp, and in that month, my faith grew, and i got more understanding. So i love god, and i know there is someone up there, and yea.

Well for me I have been raised as a Christian. My dad's whole side is Catholic and my mother's side is Christian and being that my mother is more involved in her faith that is what I was brought up on. So I have been to Catholic Mass and Christian Services and I have realized why the majority of atheists I know have told me that their family is Catholic. One of the reasons is that Catholic Mass is definitely one of the most boring and repetitious things on the planet. Plus you have to deal with all the crazy priests that molest the altar boys because the priests aren't allowed to have "fun". Then you got that whole tradition thing that makes church really boring because no one will change anything for fear of being struck down in death when they do. Also the whole Catholic church, from the priests to the Pope, is nothing but a bunch of politics. So in short Catholiscm is just boring and a bunch of nonsense. Now when you look at people who are Christians and by that I mean Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, and others. Most of them stay closer to God and enjoy their religions. Why you ask? Well they have a lot of good messages and a lot of good ways that give you those messages. Good music, good sermons, and good fellowship. Which is why I personally have trouble with my feelings because I don't believe people are born gay. I'm not saying this to start off a huge debate or argument, I'm just saying that as my opinion. So being that I don't believe you are born gay I do believe it is a sin. A very bad sin that I don't want to be a part of. Not saying that gay people are bad or horrible people, it's the sin. So for me it is very hard to say I don't believe in God because I do. At the same time though I realize that I am doing something wrong and it is go wrong that I could receive the ultimate punishment in going to Hell. So religion is actually very important to me. I go to youth group, church, and other religious activities reguraly. I get made fun for it too. People don't like me because they know I'm a Christian, they think that I'm gonna sit there and make them listen to the gospel and maybe one time I might start saying stuff for the fact that I care and don't want to see my friends depressed all the time. So in short I want to say that religion isn't bad and that Christians don't, or at least shouldn't, hate gay people because we are taught to love one another and to hate the sin not the person.

I used to be a christian until about three months ago when I gradually stopped believing. I'm pretty glad I'm not seeing that 'God is against homosexuality' supposedly.

My religions, that's pretty complicated. I don't have a set religion but I do believe in a lot of things from different religions. I believe in the "treat others as you would have them treat you" concept. I believe that killing others is not justified except out of mercy for them. I also believe that animals have equal rights to humans, and that no one should be discriminated against based on something that they cannot change (ie race, religion, sexuality). That's pretty much what I believe, if you can call that a religion.

I myself am a Unitarian Universalist, and the interesting part about that is it was my own decision, not something I grew up with as a child. I was never really brought up to a certain religion. My mother made it very clear to me when I was young that it was completely my decision whether I believed in God or not. I was once a devout Christian, I went to a Baptist Church every Sunday for a good while. But after a while, I began to question my religion, and there were so many illogical things in it that I just decided I needed a new one. It was interesting, really. I went from Christian, to Atheist, to Buddhist, to Unitarian Universalist. What I like about Unitarian Universalism is that they are VERY LGBT friendly and actually "search for the truth". They question things. In fact, debating is kind of one of their trademarks....A joke I once saw on a UU post said "A group of UU children had just caught a bunny, but they couldn't figure out what gender it was. 'Well,' said a boy, 'There's only one way to tell. Let's take a vote on it.'" Trust me, there are more, but that's the most vivid one in my memory.....If you wanna know more about UUism, go to www.uua.org.
Ever seen a purple monkey? ... Yeah, me neither.
