I was just wondering if anyone round here is interested in classical music (properly, that is, not just the odd famous piece here and there ). There are obviously a lot of people on this site with lots of different tastes and I was just seeing if anyone has this in common with me!

I prefer mostly ones from mozart, bach, paganini, and haydn, though I guess I lean more on the romantic style. As far as classical music goes, I love it especially the dynamics and melody styles.

I always listened to classical cassettes when I was younger (and everyone made fun of me 'cause I didn't like nsync ) . My favorite composers are Mendelsshon and Chopin, and probably Handel too.

I love all types of music, including Classical. I'm especially fond of Renaissance and Baroque music. I think that my favorite composers from those periods are Bach, Marin Marais, and John Dowland. "Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."

I am high whenever I listen to classical and opera . Music is my soul and I am a music maker. I love classical and opera a lot especially romanticism. I am doing two majors and one of them is vocal performance. I don't have a favorite composer because they are all excellent and you can always find something interesting and unique in each of them. For example, I like Reynaldo Hahn a lot for several reasons. First of all, most of his works have very beautiful lyrics, even though he did not compose the lyrics. Secondly, his repertoires requires a lot of artistic skills to perform effectively even though they seem easy. Listen to L'Heure exquise on youtube and you will see it. I also like Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Handel, Vivaldi, R.Vaughan Williams and Quilter. I will have a recital in May. I will probably perform some pieces from these composers such as Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal by Quilter, Die Forelle by Schubert, and one Papageno aria from the opera Die Zauberflote by Mozart.

The extent of my classical music repetoire that I listen to is probably just film music. I'm completely in love with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Listen to it all the time.
I do enjoy playing traditional (I suppose that's the word) classical music on the piano, particularly Romantic stuff (Chopin, Mendhellson etc), but I don't tend to listen to it that much.

I enjoy listening to early more Baroque-like Classical such as Mozart, if not just Baroque itself. I've also developed quite an affinity for listening to Romantic era composers lately. Eugene Butler being one of my favorites. His compositions generally flow with emotions.
