Also Chilly Peppers, David Bowie, Jane's Addiction. William S. Burroughs and a couple other beatniks (all beatniks are gay) made albums in the 90s but they all sucked, you'd think they'd be ok but no. Samuel Barber was the first openly gay composer I think; he wrote the sad song in platoon and he's really good if you life instrumental. Also Mussorgsky. oh ya John Cage, Saint-Saëns, Peter Maxwell Davies, Tchaikovsky apparently killed himself for being gay. Beethoven probably had a thing with his adopted nephew but that's not certain. Let's just say all classical composers are gay except Bach...
Oh ya Janis Joplin, Little Richard, Lou Reed, The Smiths, The Rolling Stones (just a little though, possibly just really horny).

Brian Molko (the lead singer) is bi, and I know one of the other band members is gay, the third is straight.
Rufie Wainwright's gay, as people have mentioned. Ani DiFranco is bi, I believe. Also, Jacob Diefenbach is gay. His album 'Ripping Stories For Boys' is great, and it handles a lot of issues pertaining to growing up gay.
