Jesus doesn't show remorse to those people, he accepts them as any other person, and gives them another chance to turn their lives around, and if they don't, he still died for them to "absorb" all their sins.
Jesus has never really showed remorse to anyone. He was understanding and gave people chances, and/or helped them through their hard times.
At the same time, Jesus also never commented on homosexuality. The only thing in the bible relating to homosexuality is actually the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. However, with the different ways the story is viewed upon, there is no one way to see the story. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodom_and_Gomorrah is a good link to see how different groups view the stories.
So in the end, Homosexuality was never flat out condemnded in the bible. There may have been references, but they are all based on a loose interpretation. It was also all in the old testament, which once Jesus arrived, was said to be....well, not "moot", but he will say what really needs to be said....persay.
So when somone says "The bible condemns homosexuality", they are just horribly misinformed, and/or made bad assumptions, or saw it on TV at an anti gay rally from other horribly misinformed people.
On top of all that, The bible is far too contradicting to base any argument/debate on. It's very weak. On one hand, It's still a sin from the bible to touch pork on Friday, but modern day times most christian groups disreguard this completely except during lent. So it's as if "Oh, you only have to follow some of the bible" On the other hand, Love thy neighbor? The golden rule? etc...You can't make a solid argument with the bible, it can ALWAYS have the tables turned and used against you with anyone that knows what they are talking about, it's a bad deal.
So in the end, I don't think god hates "us". I think many people make too many assumptions, are misinformed, and have never really looked at the bible, just made off base assumptions.

If the christian God exists and the bible is true, then yes, God does hate gay people. This edict is set up in Leviticus (OT) and ramified in Romans (NT).
In fact, Leviticus 20:13 says that gay people should be KILLED, and that 'their blood shal be upon them.'
This is one of the many reasons why I am not a Christian. This, coupled with the fact that the bible was written by fallable men.
There is no evidence that any god -- personal or otherwise -- exists. But, before you all tackle me for being an atheist, consider that we are ALL atheists regarding almost every one of the literally THOUSANDS of god concepts that have been invented by different cultures over the past few thousand years... I just believe in ONE LESS God than you do...

WHAT A LOAD OF BULL SHIT if god hated his children or creation of man kind he would of given us some nerve or something in our brain to like what we are supposed to, there is a thing of free will which is meant for every1 ppl say they cant help there feelings for someone thats true coz we as a community of being gay we cant help who we like/love simple we do wht we like and if god didnt like it why doesnt he show us that he dont coz it doesnt say anything in the bible it says nothing about gay being wrong and how was gay formed or brought up does any1 know i dont did someone just invent it or wht?? in my opinion(on the basis that i do believe in God) he has no reason to hate any part of the LGBT community because 1. he's supposed to love all of us regardless of sexuality, race, gender or anything else like that 2. he created us so if he doesnt like us the way we are then he could change us whenever he chose to and 3. God didn't write the bible, mankind did so there's really no good reason for him nor for his 'faithful followers' to hate us

God is such a broad term nowadays. The way I see it, we all have our ownslightly different perceptions of god or spirituality. So it's difficult to make any sort of conclusive statement. I do believe in one creator god, and I that this god doesn't have any hatred against homosexuality

Saying that I am slightly apprehansive about people's views would be mild. Religion is personal and can hence be open for interpretation. So if I read Genesis 18 & 19 I can either say that God hates Gay people or God hates Gay people who were going to rape the two visitors who happened to be male. I hate rapists and I think God does too.
If you argue about homosexuality being right and wrong they are two things you must take into account. Your personal interpretation of the bible and your relationship with God. He wants us to be happy and as the poet Milton said "Who best bear his mild yoke" As in God would never give you something you couldn't handle and wants you to be happy.
The other important thing is that people around the world and time have expolited religion for their own benefit and gain. Hitler did to back his termination of the Jewish race; Musim extremists are trying to use it today and in my country (South Africa) the apartheid government used it to oppress non white individuals.
So does God hate gay people...Thats entirely up to you!

God don't hates! "God is love" or "Deus caritas est" was the first text in the enzyclicas of Benedict XVI. And with good reason. God is in everything, in fact he is everything, and at the same moment nothig. He's not a human being, and don't hates in the way we hate. I mean we are not even able to imagine WHAT he IS, so we have to belive or not. For all beliefing in God, and with christian origin: In christianity god loves everytbody. What don't means it couldn't be a sin. But at least he can't hate you, and never will. And I mean, if God is everything, at least a small part of him is gay!

Here I think the distinction has to be made between homosexualITY and homosexual PEOPLE. I don't accept that a Christian God could accept homosexuality, just as It couldn't accept atheism, for example. Sure, It would accept and forgive the repentent atheist and homosexual, but the act remains a sin nonetheless. Or rather, the LACK of the act (atheism: worshipping God, homosexuality: being fruitful and multiplying). The sin isn't in the loving your fellow man, but in not perpetuating the species.
Now we get down to the tricky, hypothetical part. 1: The penalty for unrepented sinfulness is Hell. 2: God is all-knowing, hence It knows everything that will ever happen in advance. Based on this, while there can be "free will", God knows what choices we'll make. 3: God is all-powerful, and creates every circumstance exactly as It plans and so that everything comes out perfectly for Its will. Thus, there is actually no free will. Hence, coupled with the all-knowingness, God knows what you will choose, and has made it so that you will make the choice which denies God until your death. 4: So, God knows who will be an unrepentent atheist/murderer/homosexual (or all three! Atheistic murderous homosexual!) until the day they die, and more importantly, It has set things up so that this is the only way things could turn out for that person. 5: SO, God is essentially condemning millions of people to Hell, including homosexuals. Conclusion: God hates homosexuals.
I sure am glad God doesn't exist though, because that would really bum me out. (The only God that could exist would NOT be one of love, so I refuse to believe in it, but that's another topic.)

I agree with hamishrp,
First, and foremost, god does not hate anything or anyone. That would go against his own image. God loves his children whether they're black, white, gay, lesbian, or without an arm. If God didn't like something, he would remove it. We are his creation, we are in his image.
I'm Christian, but I don't like the bible. I'm not a iron-footed Christian; I don't go to church, I dont necessarily like the bible (I agree/disagree with parts). I don't go to church, because of what they have become. I don't like the idea of everyone listening to one man's words of wisdom. God will let you know what he wants you to know. Every time I go to read the bible, I ask god to let me view it the way he wants it to be read. Thousands of years of translation can change a lot.
You don't have to hate god or not believe in god just because of one or few things that went bad in your life - there are many tests. One test is faith.
There are many times when I have taken my anger out on God, but I apologized - I was being irrational. I'm serious - there have been days where I've went through hell and back, and I cursed him, I commanded him to take me, to kill me...but I knew that he could, and I feared it. But in my heart I knew I didn't want to go... I really did...but I was just soooo angry.
As far as the bible... I believe somewhere in there it says something like... a man shall not sleep with another man... I think (plz correct me if I'm wrong..) - but you CANNOT look at that in a literal sense. The bible is not meant to be taken literally (sorry Fundamentalists, not offense.). Has anyone ever seen The Omen (the newer one) - The bible said of a monster that rose from a sea - that "sea' was politics.. .not literally a sea... and that monster was the man they elected.
Anyway, I think it means that you should not "sleep" with another man, you should love another man. If you're in bed with another guy just for the sex, just for the carnal pleasure, and you care little or nothing about the guy next to you, then you are a waste of time! If you honestly love the man, you would take your life for him, you would protect and love him, then sleeping with him or sex with him, in my opinon, is justified.

It actually says that people of mankind should not sleep with others of mankind and not of womankind. Which actually doesn't say that gay is wrong, it says that two men can't sleep together. And excuse me, but is it sleeping together when you are having sex?
