Im not personally Christian, but IMO, this isnt worth debating. The christian God is a huge paradox - you can either say to this, that a) hes not real because hes a paradox, or b) we cant understand god. Either way - we cant know what God thinks, CHRISTIANS (some) may hate us, but we cant KNOW that God does or doesnt, so whats the point.
By the christians definition, God cannot hate gay people. Because he made them, and is all forgiving even if it is a sin. This is where people fail. God is all forgiving, people are not. Doesnt the bible say somewhere (along the lines of) "Give yourself unto me, and all your sins will be forgiven". I feel really bad for any Gay/Bi/Whatever person that worries whether God accepts them or not, because a) imo, we cant know, and b) he is all forgiving. If God will accept Murderers and Rapists (they are read theyre last rights when they were taken to the electric chair so that they can repent and enter the kingdom,) he'll take a few gay people as well.
On the topic of God being a paradox, why would God make something, which in turn he would come to hate. He would hate his own product. A product Made In His Image... Not logical? But again you can take the "we cant understand God" stance on this.
IMO, we should be focusing on the Christians (again definately NOT ALL) that condemn it, because, they arent even preaching what theyre god says.
Disgusting.

This post has me worried, I mean, why do you worry about the power that be and how he looks upon you, thats like worrying what the Presidents thinks of you. And further, what right do the people who claim being a homosexual is a sin have? I mean, they are suppose to be followers of God and his teachings, which should reflect love and understanding and forgiveness. I just find them so hypocritical of what they believe. I've been wondering about this and I've already made my peace with God, he is not going to abandon his own creation because if he did, then he is not truly God. So, I suggest that those of you who are worried of going to hell and wondering if God hates homosexuals, you have to find your peace with him and show his misguided followers that they are wrong. God does not and never hated homosexuals, people have.

I personally believe that God does exist but that he loves all his children. I believe very very little of what the Bible says. It seems to me that these overbearing Christians pick and choose what they want to preach. They ignore thingse in the Bible that nobody is going to listen to or things that they feel could destroy faith in the church, while constantly pointing out that being gay, in their opinion, is a sin. For example, the whole thing about women not teaching men or not wearing two different types of fabric at the same time, they completely ignore this. Yet being gay is a sin! The God I believe in loves his children and wouldn't design some of us to be gay if he didn't want it to be that way. And if he did have a problem with it, why are people still gay after they pray and pray and pray not to be gay? They say you are supposed to repent, yet those who do are just miserable their whole lives. There is nothing wrong with being gay and God does not hate us. It is part of who we are. It is a challenge that we have to face. God does not make life easy for us, but he makes it manageable. That's what I believe anyway.

I don't agree with most christian beliefs, however I do study Christianity.
There is no basis for the conclusion that God hates homosexuals. The majority of this was brought about by the Old Testament in which there is a Levitical Law against gay sex. Levitical Laws were made for the Jews during a specific time period. They were made in order for the people to survive. If a male abandoned his duties as a male, that is, if he were to be exclusive to other males--it could have very dire circumstances. Property went from father to son, and if a father had no son...his property was gone. His chain of birth was gone, and all of those under and around him would suffer. Therefore, it was 'against tradition' for a male to have sex with another male. The early Christians changed this word, against tradition, to 'abomination' as the man who put the translation into work--King James--was very homophobic.
Furthermore, the Story of Sodom is another keystone for this belief. It is said that the men of sodom 'both young and old' came to visit Lot in order to 'know' his angelic male visitors. This has been translated to mean that the men of sodom were gay and wanted to have sex with the angels. However, the word 'know' probably meant that they actually wanted to know the men in the way we use the word today. The basis is the word Yadha, and it is only translated to mean 'sexual relations' a handful of times.
So basically people translate and nit-pick out of the bible to achieve thier various aims and beliefs. Jesus's laws are the true commandents that Christians should follow. On his famous sermon on the mount, he was asked what the greatest commandent was. Jesus replied that the first is to love the lord god with all your body and mind and soul, and the second is like the first, to love your neighbor as yourself. Other than that, he said, all other commandments fall into place. It is ridiculous to say that God hates gays, or even that homosexuality is a sin. Jesus says that love is the greatest commandment of all, to love God and each other, so if God 'hated' gays for 'loving' others...he would be in violation of his own laws.

I personally dont belive in the consept of "god" but i do think if he is/was real then her/she would not have let homosexuality occur in his/her "children" if he/she hated it.
My argument is that god must not disprove of homosexualty as he/she creates all that is living so he/she created homosexuality and would not create something he/she disliked and as for the consept it is "satan's" work god is surposidly almighty so he/she must triumph over santan thus making him/her responsible for homosexuality and thus if he/she lets exist he/she must not disprove of it. I've noticed a lot of this type of stuff has been floating around lately; people asking can gays and christianity go together, does God hate us, why are Christians bad people, etc. I, personaly, am a gay Catholic. I don't go to church as often as I probably should, and I don't agree with all the Church does, but I do believe the core message behind the Bible is true. In essence, no, I don't believe God hates us. Anyone that reads the Bible would have a hard time saying God hated anyone, unless all you read is the Old Testament, and much of that was writen to show the power of a God and too make it so that people wouldn't do extreme things. The core message of the New Testamanent, which I follow, if watching out for your fellow man, helping others, and being a loving person. I just think the vehical the message is carried in, aka the Church, is being distorted. So, does God hate us? No. But people do. And those people aren't following in God's footsteps. this is my 1st post so if goes wrong ... help me!!
don't know the exact words but it goes summat like this: love your god with all your mind, body and soul, love your neighbour as yourself, there are no commandments greater than these...
doesn't mention anything about only loving your neighbours that are the same race, religion and gender as you. i think christianity is all about being loved, and loving others; whether that be family, friends, total strangers... yes even us 'sinful' gays.

there are homosexual people all over the bible...no priest will ever admit it but if you read closely you will see that they exist....so if god hates us....then why are we in the sacred book??

God does not hate us and he brought us just the way he made us. I believe in God and that he created people of different sexual orientations. It doesn't matter if your bi, gay, lesbian or transgendered/transsexual because that's the way we were brought into this world. And all of you anti-gay people, you are all stupid. For one thing, the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. What it condemns is rape and having sex with very young children. So for all of you who have been worried that God doesn't love you, he actually loves us all. Oh, one more thing I soooo hate homophobia.
