I don't know, but this is really weird, because I believe in God. But it makes me think, why would I believe in something that doesn't approve of me? I know, however, that I'll never get married (civil partnership, whatever) to a guy, because... I dunno, marriage is a man woman thing, not a man man or woman woman thing. And this isn't me being homophobic, because, well, I'm a homo. Ha. I think, though, if you seek penitence for having sex with guys, then don't go out and do it again. That's why I don't seek forgiveness. Haha. I feel like such a hypocrite.

This is what put me off religion and god in the first place - i used to question things like if God is supposed to be loving, then why not love us for who we are? we're not murdering people, we're not commiting adultery... we just happen to not be heterosexuals. If God did exist, I would want to face him and ask him for sure if he hated us for not being straight - I wouldn't want a riddle, I wouldn't want a rambling answer, I'd want it straight. If he said yes he hated us - he hated me - then so be it, I'm not gonna change for anyone, not even the Lord. However I'd point out that i am a good person and there are rapists, murderers, molesters, wife beaters, racists and homophobes out there that are commiting more sins then we ever could. I'd also call him a hypocrite and a liar for ever labelling himself as an all loving God.
I now believe in the buddhist way of life - I believe that it's important to love one another for who we are. To those out there that are devoted christians I say this: God made u the way u are for a reason, if u know in your heart that you're good, fuck what anyone else thinks. If someone did come up to u and say God hates Fags, say to them 'Are u God though? No, you're not, and until I hear those words straight out of His mouth, until I hear Him say He won't accept me into heaven because of the way that I am, I will assume that He does love me, I am accepted and I will live in eternal peace and u can shove ur homophobic views up ur ass'... well okay that last bit might be a little rude but we've had to put up with a hell of a lot of gay bashing for centuries so screw it!
Does God hate us? I'll never know, just like i'll never know whether there is a God up there or not (I'm agnostic about it at the moment but my ever growing love for buddhism might enlighten my mind once again). All I know is that in the bitter end, we gotta learn to have a little love for ourselves at least and love for one another. It may sound cliched and puke-inducing but hatred won't lead to inner peace. Hatred will lead to nothing but destruction and unresolving tension and judgement.

Iv'e just had a revelation. If you have accepted Him into your heart, then Jesus is a part of who you are. If you are gay, then that is also a part of who you are. And it you are true to your self then you are being true to God. If you enjoy deep poems and songs from the heart, check out my blog. You will probably not be dissapointed, but if you are - too bad.

Right before i begin my personnal oppion, i do not want, "if any" religous people to take my oppion the wrong way. Speaking for myself i, personally do not beleive in god. But, if there was a god, then i'd say "No", god does not hate us for being different to any other living being on this planet just for finding the same sex attractive or being gay ect. If god was real in my oppinion then he would accept everybody for who they are and what they are, everybody in the world is the same. People who try too understand gods oppinion of human being and sexuality if there was an oppinion, are going to get themselves all confused in there own words. Also being true to yourself and accepting yourself in your heart is accepting and also being true towards god. A.J.DUTTON

Even if God was contradictory enough to hate gays (which I doubt he is) doesn't "freedom of religion" also allow freedom from religion as well?
Thats all I've got to say, enjoy... Nick

Obviously this topic is controversial which explains the infinite number of posts which I couldn't read all of but the of many I did read no one addressed the question:
WHAT/WHO IS GOD?
It's impossible to debate over a topic where the debaters probably have no consensus on the main topic.
Is God some sort of giant guy with a great white beard who always where's white Greek Toga tied together with a rope belt? (Simpsons) If he is... he'd be some sort of a person, albeit an all powerful and all knowing person, but still a person because we've describe and know in human terms (white beard) so therefore this God would have to limited by our limits to know him/describe Him.
If God is a person then God can be completely irrational; so logic doesn't have to apply. He could make people gay and hate them at the same time; just like how people make Fords but no one ever drives them. A better example would be those couples on Maury that love each other so much but the husband can't stop beating his wife and his wife won't leave to save her life because she loves him...
So if you want to believe in the God that is a "person" aka the Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Baptist, Mormon, Jewish, Orthodox, and Muslim God who directly intervenes in the daily lives of people to help his people who hate and want to kill His other people who also pray and believes he directly intervenes to help hate and kill their own people who are gay but are still His children but deserve to die because apparently He said so in the first testament even though His Son preaches tolerance in the next testament.
If that's the God you believe in then I guess your going Hell...
Or...
You can do what Einstein and many others did: find your own faith and come to terms with the God you come across regardless of whether you even come to cross Him or not.
Recognize everything you know is a human construct, even God, and especially religion. Then you can strip away the human motives and layers of shifting ideals to see if anything exists and if something does exist, I think you'll feel rather ridiculous asking it if it hates because gay.
Me and God have gone quite a journey: I've gone from being in utter denial of myself out of fear that he would hate me for being such a wicked person to completely believe God was as childish as the boogeyman to wondering why he would inflict me with such a disease to just sadness that I had not enjoyed the life he'd given me. In the end after I got past the doctrine (the bible), the fear and the expectations of my friends and family and I found something I can only describe as... Harmony. Einstein saw harmony in the cosmos, and I saw it there too but I also found it in people. I found it in the underlying trust that exists between all people which makes it possible for 6 billion different and infinitely complex people to function.
In the context of that I felt ridiculous asking whether or not he hated me for being gay; things are just the way they were supposed to be and I felt like a toddler asking His parents if they hated Him for not knowing how to tie his shoes.

No, God hates nobody. I'm a relatively faithful Christian, and the things in the OT were Jewish law, not world law. People are trying to apply the laws of one nation 2000 years ago to today's day in age, and they are met with failure. The UCC (United Church of Christ) blesses homosexual unions, and some are beginning to think that homosexuality is a gift from God. I wonder if we'll go back to a time before the Abrahamic religions, those religions which seem so negative on homosexuality.
Anyways, a theory behind homosexuality is that God uses it as population control. Face it, the earth can handle only so many people, so God institutes homosexuality as a way to cut down reproduction since (obviously) we don't procreate.

I say no as well. It may seem that God hates gays, but those are really the churches who do. In fact, some of those churches even hate straight Christians, such as myself, for loving my fellow men, including the LGBT community. Kinda ironic? funny? eh? I say...all of the above. The Church can be disgusting.
