I take alot of homophobic comments that go on in my school quite well. I mean, much of the community is closed-minded, and homophobia is something that seems to always be around where gays are. But alot of the derogatory comments that are said are, quite simply, hilarious.
People who voice their opinions on what they believe is proper and how same-sex attractions are wrong usually do it in an immature or religiously-grounded way, which doesn't affect me at all. People who discriminate because they are too immature or because they feel they should according to their "loving" god is really no concern of mine.
THe worst reaction to my coming out was my parents. My mom didn't talk to me or touch me for a long, long time, and when she finally began to again, it was really awkward. My father took away alot of my communication methods to ban "conversations with demons," such as msn messenger or email and even at first internet as a whole. To this day, all messenger programs have been disabled and I have to sneak my way onto this site and delete history and enter it through a google link...it's all really, really frustrating and injust.
Things are better now, but my dad still thinks I am "lost." He is very, very religious, which didn't help...

good luck, i gota do the same thing (im only here becouse my parents are shopping), hopefully your problems will clear up and get a stable situation at home , and dont forget to delete the temporary internet files also in internet settings if your are using win XP,

I can pretty much handle gay slurs but sometimes it isn't the insults that really hurt.
When I told my brother, it was kinda hard seeing as all he said to me was..."oh....wish you didn't tell me that...I donno what I am suppose to say...you best not have a boyfriend."
It wasn't that he really meant to be mean about it...but I expected him to be....I donno...I felt worse when he went to my friend to talk about me being gay/bi instead of talking to me...He won't say the words, he refers to it as "That thing you told me" or "your secret" I was a bit let down...thought he would handle it better seeing as we were pretty close growing up and such. Living for the day, Working for tomorrow. Taking life as it comes and making it what I want.

The only time anyones ever said anything to me is when there was an interform basketball match at skool. at the end i went into the changing rooms to talk to my mates who had played and this guy said ' f*** off you gay b****** you've only come in here to perv on us. i bet you wouldnt have come in if we were girls you queer piece of s***' i mean wtf

Well, Me and my Mommy were arguing, I don't know why, she gets so mad so easily all the time now...
Anyway, she started making fun of the way a dress and act...so I said to her

My mother & I don't get along, me & her family also don't get along. So when I came out to some of them many of them told me the classic "you're going to hell !" line, that one wasn't too bad I pretty much expected it. One of the worst comments though was when I told my cousin, she told me I was disgusting & even if I was gay that still wouldn't make anyone want me because I would disgust everyone with my gayness.

The worst comment I ever got was from my former best friend.. I was talking to him, and he turned the conversation to girlfriends... I think he was planning to ask me out or something, because he told me he didn't have one, and then said. "Well, what about you?" I know he meant to ask if I had a boyfriend.. but the way he worded it prompted me to be completely honest.. So I said "Well, I don't have a girlfriend either.."
He looked at me as though I had drown horns or something, stood up, and glared at me.. He said "I can't F***ing believe I ever took advice from you!? You probably made my ex leave me didn't you! F***ing slut!" That was the last time he ever spoke to me.. He and I had been very close before that, and I probably would have gone out with him if he had asked..
It doesn't hurt to think about it anymore, but I was a complete wreck for a while after that. Men come in three sizes.. Small, medium and Oh My God!

I don't mean to be intrusive, but I'm sure that really hurt her too. I'd probably be more offended if someone criticised my career or love life than my sexuality. Perhaps that's just me.

I haven't come out to alot of people though my grandfather told me once that he would never let a gay guy in our house so untill I can move out I am in z closet lol and the people I have come out to are like wow really are you joking? though I do say it is hard to take me sierisly lmao
