FFX Vs. FFX-2, what do you think?

I just want to hear some of your opinions on both of these games, because I have heard a lot of dispute over which one wins. Such as:
~FFX is original and fun to play.
~FFX-2 brought back the time waiting and is quite versatile.
~The sphere grid is annoying and hard to understand
~Changind dress spheres gets complicated.
You can go off on these topics or bring up your own arguement. I just want to know who favors which.

In my own personal opinion, it is quite clear that FFX wins. The graphics are just as good on this one than it ias in FFX-2, the only arguement is that the cut scenes do sometimes look better. The summoning system is so much better because you can do something with the summons rather than them just take 9999. The sphere grid is so straight forward, it's easy and makes the game more fun. The battle system is better, it's easier to control and strategise. And X-2 is a little too complicated with the whole changing dress spheres and you don't get too much time to execute commands. Plus it coppies off of the first one too much, it's the same thing with a few added places.

That's my opinion, what's yours?

FFX was very fun, it was a great game.

Then... FFX-2 came. It was horrible. I bled from the eyes.

It's the worst FF game besides Dirge of Cerberus. (Which also happens to be the worst game in the history of forever.)

Yuna is naive as ever, Rikku is a slut, Paine is a raging lesbian. It was also VERY confusing as to where you had to go, what to do next, what the storyline even was... I hated it. sorry, but FFX is just much better.

FFX has its merits, sure, but, at least to me, it lacked a lot of the "specialization" that FFX-2 had with its dresspheres. By that, I mean that, if I *really* wanted to, I could effectively get Tidus to learn everything in his "section" of the grid and have him be a kick-ass mage like Lulu at the same time. It just always kind of bothered me how interchangeable everyone is. The same thing applies in FFX-2, I guess, but the delivery somehow made it a different experience for me. Besides, I liked the mid-battle transformations. They pleased me. Very much so. :]

Though, when it comes to cutscenes, FFX wins by a long shot. A VERY long shot. I did, however, like how FFX-2 was divided moreso into missions than into a general storyline. Made it easier to achieve 100% completion (which makes me happy, because I'm a perfectionist, and am liable to be put into very, very bad moods when I'm missing 1% for some indeterminable reason).

FFX's a great game and I doubt that FFX-2 will ever live up to it in some respects, but there are also some things in FFX-2 that make it shine on its own, sequel or not. That's why I love it.

In my opinion, they were both quite good, I really liked them both. I liked FFX for its customizability of weapons and armor and I liked FFX-2 for the ability to garment shift. Also, I LOVED the sphere grid in FFX, that made it great! You could make Lulu and Yuna power houses like Auron if you had the time. Also, the ability to play as a girl in a cute and quirky expansion to long line of final fantasies was a nice shift. Though some things I didn't like about each game were, for one, that FFX-2 had you running every-which way to try and get a 100% completion to actually COMPLETE the game fully as well as the way things had to go in a specific but loosely designed order. In FFX, there was a lot of clipping with items, clothing, bodies, etc. I would have to go with FFX, even though it had clipping issues, the graphics were a little off, and the main character was a little to regular, it was still really fun and the cut sceens were nice. Also, the story line was very unique, as well as gameplay, and I just liked it more!
Yes, I'm a guy.

im gonna have to go with ffx-2. nothing more elegant than woman who know how to fight. i love rikku's little victory dance at the end of every battle. i loved the whole dress sphere but rarely had the chance to use those 3 special dress spheres. it is true though how they dont really give you hints on what to do to get 100% completion. what i didnt like about ffx is how the guys who specialize in strength could learn magic spells. i like it when the characters stick to their own thing.

FFX was a narrative.

You started at the beginning, and ended at the end, and that was it. Sure, you fought some freaks along the way, but the ending was conceitedly EASY.
That said, it was a great story, I loved it, and loved the characters, even if some of them had such pitifully small roles.

FFX-2 was attempting to be flexible.

And it succeeded. The first time I played it, I got close to the end with about only one-third of the story explained to me. I'd rushed it, and was painfully underleveled. I started again, with aid of a walkthrough, and found a lot more of the storyline. There was so much there that I didn't find first way through. The 'story-changing' decision/s you made were pretty dissappointing though.

I HATED only having three different characters, it doesn't matter how many different ways you can dress them. Also, it had jack shit FMV sequences. Usually, I wouldn't really care, but a hobby of mine is to make music vids out of random videos; I've done it with the videos of most FFs, but FFx-2 was a struggle, even with a short song.

I think both games were about equal, with different pros and cons. I enjoyed FFX more, mainly because of the timing and because it was such a jump from Playstation's FF9 (I fucking hate characters with tails, ARGH).

Still, I couldn't go back to those fight systems. They're so SLOW. I enjoyed a bit no 12s system, at least after I turned off the gay-looking 'connector' lines that got in my way. Looking forward to FF13 and FFversus13. However, whether I get the chance to play them depends on Square's devotion to Sony vs. more paying customers. I say bring it to PC and we'll see how a huge, beautiful looking RPG should be.
