My Dad is extremely homophobic. I've told about 20 of my best friends. But I'm really struggling on telling family. Should I tell my Mum? My Sister? I need advice. Thanks guys x

Wow! That's a lot of best friends! I'm guessing they were all fine with it. I wouldn't tell your family if you're not ready to tell them. If your mum or sister is less homophobic, or better yet, not homophobic at all, then tell them when you're ready, and they will help you to tell your dad and will protect you and support you if he isn't accepting. But remember, never regret coming out to them, it takes a lot of courage to right? They should just regret their reactions instead. Good luck!

Hey, I think the best advice I can give is that you should only tell family members when you are ready. My dad was extremely homophobic too but when he found out I was gay he hugged me and said he was fine about it. Obviousy can't say you will get the same reaction but just think you should know that people can take a different look at things when it is someone they love.

I dont have anyone particularly homophobic in my family but i know if i came out to them they would all treat me differently whether it was in a good way or a bad way. I'd love to come out to my mum cause shes like my best friend ever but i know if i came out to her within an hour all my family would know and everyone would be treading carefully around me and not trying to insult me in anyway.

Yeah I came out to all my friends too but I feel i cant teell my parents for some reason.
I think they know though since one time they were in my room and i was half asleep and they though I was. So they started talking "What IF he really does like guys?" "I dunno.." And thats about as far as they went. I dunno wat this means
