Hey everybody, I was just seriously thinking about my future, being bi and all and I realize in terms of marrying another guy...I really can't see that as a possibility, not only because of the skepticism, but also because of the simple fact that my children won't really be MY children (since I do want children)...would you ever marry someone of the same sex as yourself?

I askmyelf that all the time. I guess it depends because like you, I do want children but I'm the type of guy that likes to feel protected and taken care of and many women aren't really willing to do that in the way that I mean. I guess it depends on circumstance really.

Yes, I do plan on marrying the man of my dreams... but now it is too early to contemplate children. As far as biologically, I've promised my lesbian friend to father her child. =P Actually she's bi but hates penis, go figure.

Since marriage is a religious institution, not really. But I do want the legal benefits of marriage (along with that comes the issues of divorce).

I completely agree! Marriage is religious... and well, as the Uk is a christian dominated country, i'd rather not be married under it... seeing as it preaches how, 'we' are wrong.

Well, I don't want to be married in the religious sense, but rather the legal sense. In fact, even if it was called a legal partnership, legal union etc. I'd be happy. Marriage has been horribly desecrated by cross-uasge of different religions and governments. Legal Union or Marriage aside, I know I want to be with someone I love when I'm much older and have a stable life, and I do intend to adopt children.

I don't really want to get married coz I'm not a follower of some religion and I don't think marriage adds something to the relationship. If my partner want though I will consider it because it's egoistic to say no because I just don't want it. I'm bi too and don't know if I'm gonna marry a man or a woman (gay marriages are prohibited here but I hope I will have left by marriage time) However I want to marry a woman, I don't know why, I just think women are more understanding and responsible, more cooperative, caring, cuddling, sensitive... But you never know, I'm sure I just haven't met the right guy, I know he exists!
As for children, I don't want to give birth to one myself so if I'll marry a woman I think she should (if she wants). I know that typically it wont be my child (except if I give an ovule of me) but I don't care, I mean it will be the other person's child and part of my family, I will raise it so I will be loving it just like being mine.
PS. I'm not into marrying so every time I say "marry" I mostly mean "make family" with or without the official label.

If the state calls two people who love each other joining together in a union a "marriage", then yes, gays should be able to get married too.

I think that gays should definitely be allowed to get married. In a society that says all people are equal, everyone should the same rights. I, however, just see marriage as a religious or governmental seal of approval on the love that two people already have for each other, which is not something I'm particularly interested in. If you're not living on the edge, your taking up too much space.
