I'm athetist. I don't believe all that bullshit about a higher being, sounds like a fairy tale to me.

I never believed in god or any religion.

i'm agnostic, my beleifs are strong and spiritual. I beleive that when we die, are souls are cleansed and we're given a different form, based on one of the elements (fire, water, air, earth, ice, volt, plant, mind, light, dark and time) and we're free to roam the spirit world. Our spirits can travel back to earth, which is just a trial for the spirit world, to see the loved ones they miss. It's a bit final-fantasy-esque, but it's what i think. Laugh if you want, i'm used to it.

How did you come by these beliefs?
Or: how can dark and light both be elements, when one is just the absence of another?
Or: what is air, specifically? The air in Los Angeles is made of of different things to the air of say Norway. The air on earth, taken generally, is different to the air on Mars.
Or: why plant, and not flesh?
Or: why water AND ice, but not steam? Or is that what you mean by air?
Or: can these elemental spirit beings travel to earth and see not loved ones, but parts of the earth they didn't have a chance to see while alive, or even to planets other than earth?
(I'm not being a dick, I'm just curious.)

right, let's start...

light and dark are not just absences of each other, they're balanced forces that keep the world from getting more of one than another.

air is just basically gas. Any form of anything in a gasseus state

flesh isn't an element, because each body is a temple, which is made of a fussion of the elements. Because it is not naturally outside the body, it is not an element.

water and ice are different. Water refelcts liquids, and ice refelcts cold. It's not what they are, it's their purpose. Steam, however, would fit under air, which is made from water and fire.

spirits can travel to earth (the trial world) and see anything they want.

id say im agnostic, although amgznthn, your beliefs sound kinda cool im not entirely sure what i believe, but i believe theres something

organised religion frightens me a little i just see it as a form of control, not meaning to offend anyone

im atheist.

the element stuff is hard to believe, and it is slightly misleading. because the entire thing isn't really about light or ice. its about the metaphors that each evoke, not about the actual material.

plus the trial world notion mixed in with absolutely no form of authority figure is very illogical. exactly who or what (god is not a who he is what for instance) is trailing you, and exactly who or what allows some form of access to the spirit world?

plus why would things in the spirit (immaterial) world consist of things from the material world?

i have no idea what i believe in, and im not going to just go for something just because its there or i feel the need to believe in something to feel good about myself, or for peer pressure (not that im suggesting this of anyone) so im waiting to find what it is that i believe, and itll probably take a long time.

but i believe in some form in the separation of form and mind, and maybe death is just the cancellation of the form, but im not sure. and i defiantly know of an undercurrent of force behind things, but again, im not sure.

There are 117 elements, none of which are listed above.

Light is a force, all "dark" is is an absence of light.

Any Agnostics or Atheists here? I am Agnostic. Here we can discuss things like why we believe what we believe. I guess I am Agnostic because I do not have all the answers and accept the fact that the existence of a god is unknowable.

W00t, finally a place were we can discuss different methods of not believing in God.

I'm an Atheist because early on I understood that both the concept and the religion I grew up with didn't make any sense... I later found out Christianity was just bad remake of previous pagan religions.

I don't believe in a Theistic-god, unattached to a religion because there's no evidence for it and no sign of any global, moral justice. I'm agnostic when it comes down to a Deistic-god.

having properly made up my mind i suppose you could say what i believe is similar to the force in star wars, theres something around us that connects everything and to an extent influences our lives (like luck i guess), but it doesnt require or want worshiping.

to be honest i can believe far more easily in paranormal things like aliens, the loch ness monster, bigfoot etc tham i can in religion, it just feels so false and hipocritical

Sounds like someone is referring to the fictitious "dust" from his dark materials
