i was reading a magazine called Details, its pretty much a guys fashion magazine. in it was an article called Who Says All Gay Men Are Stylish?
personally, i think society immediately associates fashion with gays guys. but not all of us are fashionable. heck, many straight guys are stylish too, especially celebrities.... look at justin timberlake, p. diddy, etc.
with me, i love fashion; i love the latest styles, brand named clothes, american eagle, H&M, abercrombie & fitch, clothes from Pac Sun, even Hot Spot, etc.... and i can have days where i look good, and days where i shouldnt be out in public cus what i have on.
but why do girls even have to come to me or my other gay friends for fashion advice? shouldnt we be the ones going to girls for style?
oh no, but wait. now who says that all girls are stylish?
so, has the stereotype with gay guys and fashion gone a bit overboard?
to me, i think anyone (straight, gay, male, female, etc.) can be stylish, not just the gay guys

No, not all of them are. I know very straight guys who are more into fashion than almost all of my gay friends. I wouldn't say I am into fashion really, but I dress pretty trendy...

A gay friend of mine, I doubt he would know fashion if it fell from a tree with neon lights and arrows pointing at it and did a song and dance exclaiming that it was fashion... It all depends some people may think that somethings are fashionable and some other people would say things like those are cruddy and not fashionable. Like me I think the brand names that you said are horrible and I wouldn't get caught dead wearing them I like more of a loose fit on my clothes but I like tight things too but going to Abercrombie would be out of the picture if I wanted to wear something tight and nice I would probably go to some designer clothing store like D&G or something instead of those. So thats my oppinion but those things you said about Str8 Gay Male Female are totally correct. But fashion has to do with you not anyone else. It's your fashion so no one should be able to say whats fashionable or not. Unless you dress like a hick now that is out of the question non-fashion period, I think everyone will agree on that, but with everything else it depends on what you like

Actually, my style was the thing that got me thinking the 'big question' am I gay? Because I love clothing, I honestly love wearing something no one else does, and I don't care if I'm insulted or glorified for it so long as I'm noticed.
But then I hear that these are the stereotypical gay styles and then I look and think, that's just good clothing they aren't wearing big flashing signs that say 'insert penis here' so what makes it gay?
So I try it out and my style has gone mostly 'gay' but while the stereotype works on me, it doesn't on others that I know.
So yeah it can be a factor, but its not 100%.

Absolutely not.
I know plenty of gay guys that i think are dorky.
Celebrities hire stylists, they dress them/choose their hairstyle/fake their tans etc. More is never enough

yea thats true what u said about celebrities, however, some have actually gone to becoming designers--which doesnt involve hiring stylists; cus its their image, their ideas.... lenny kravitz, eminem, 50 cent are a few examples of celebrities gone fashion designers... showing us their style, and telling us to buy and wear their clothes

I read Vouge, Elle, and I gonna start buying Men's Fashion. I where Hollister and Pac Sun, that does make me any girlier then others. I often get asked if a outfit looks good or if the makeup is right but, I will alot of the times give them tips. I know mostly about hair and clothes but I know makeup (something I don't use) and colors. That being said I can be like that and act just like a str8 boy. Don't sterotype all gay people with style, over here you would be called a Hater.
