Vicious Circle of hetero-ness
Date: 2004/09/30 00:44 By: Benny Status:

Why do I keep falling for straight guys? Frankly it's really starting to do my head in. And this new '21st Century heterosexual man' thing doesnt help. before you could tell that if someone was gay they dressed really, really well and their hair was good (how shallow does that sound) but now this 'new man' is starting to confuse me; their hair is better and their fashion sense is borderline homo! Clearly my gaydar needs new batteries...

Lol! Yeah I suffer from the same thing, every guy I have fallen for has been str8 but to my (once accurate) gaydar they were gay! Bring back the filthy looking hetero's I say, make our already hard lives easier!

Straight guys have it easy. I'd award the str8 man who falls for your average lesbian.. For some reason i find it easier to tell a lesbian girl from a straight girl..

My gaydar never assumes anyone is gay... i've met a few guys i thought would never be straight - even if they tried - but they turned our to be exactly that *drop jaw*

I tend to wait and see, test the person out a bit too see how they behave.

I remember when i was a mini Gay Hamish: I always played with the idea of walking in on some gay 'happenings' in school, or finding someone i knew on faceparty...

Only the second has happened and that was not a great find either.
Pants.

I'm having my own issue with this guy that I like that may not be gay, but more and more I notice that he may be. Of course, asking him isn't really an option, because he is a good friend, and I would rather not lose him as a friend.
Of course he has gone out with a girl like once but it always seemed much more like a friendship to me than anything else, no holding hands or anything. I'm probably just wishing to much though . . . just my luck.

there is really no way of knowing if someone is gay for sure without asking them
If i were you i might bring gay-stuff up in conversation.. see how he reacts and stuff?

Is there 'chemistry' between the two of you?

I always fall for the cute, jock, straight guys. Well i dont know for sure that they are straight, execpt for the ones with a gf, but its unlikely that they are gay. But straight eyecandy is ok. But then when you develop a huge crush on a friend. Well, this person used to be a pretty good friend, but now we hardly see each other anymore, different schedules. So i really dont obsess over him anymore. But, tell me if this is weird, we used to talk dirty to each other. And as you prolly know some straight guys pretend to like each other b/c they think its funny, so i just brushed it off as him joking and assuming it meant nothing b/c were both straight. But it was pretty vulgar, is that weird?

But, now that i see the guys on this site, i think gay guys are 50X better. most hot straight guys are completely dumbasses.

As for what to do when you like a guy and you don't know if he is gay, i will tell you some advice i read somewhere. Become friends, and then once your good enough friends, you can tell him your gay. And if he is gay maybe you can be more than friends, but if his not you still have yourself a good friend. Too bad you cant be friends-with-benefits with straight guys .

i agree w/ all of u, its not fun falling 4 str8 guys. but 2 me they're just so cute and/or hot. friends w/ benefits w/ str8 guys would b fun if it existed. i have a friend and be4 he graduated he would take me everywhere, he would pay 4 my way n2 the movies, pay 4 my supper, if i wuz silent he would ask wut wut wuz wrong, we had conversations where he wuz just sooo open. basically the sweetest guy u've ever met n ur life, and i dont think he's ever had a g/f. but now we hardly talk because he's so busy, but i just wish i could tell him how i feel about him.

man texas sux, damn haters!!!

Amen. Though I don't get why the military has "Don't ask, don't tell" for gays who want to serve their country. At least I'm not alone in my school. There's another student in my school who's gay. Peace.

I left school recently. I knew that there was someone else in the school who was gay for a long time but because it's hard to be gay in school anyway i never approached them and i almost distanced myself from him. Didn't want to come out.

I become friend with him later on but i didn;t feel any less lonely because of him being there.
