I see a lot of you had came out to your parents, I really admire you guys, At my city and culture, it is best not to let anyone know or you'll be absolutely dead. My dad used to say "Ha! If I found my son GAY, I'd rather kill him." It is hard to keep it all inside, anyway, how about you guys~?

my parents dont know, but two of my friends know and theyre cool with that haha one of them that knew is a girl so we always go out to the mall shopping and then also check on guys "hey hey! look over there!"

Hey, I came out to everyone when i was 14. I would be lieing if i told you that everything has been wonderfull, ive has some pretty nasty shit happen to me. But, im free to be me, and i would NOT change that for anything.....so despite some of the hardships it was worth it. It makes me really sad when i hear about guys like you living in societies that are so unaccepting....my hope is that someday you will be able to live someplace that its ok to be yourself. My parents do not know. I would like to come out to them by the end of the year. I think that will be my resolution for 2008. As soon as i come out to my parents. I will come out completely. I just dont want to keep this bottled up inside anymore. I am bisexual. I live men and women equally.... "All men are created equally" that means we have every right to love who we want to love. A couple of my friends know and there girls. Everyone else who knows is bi or gay.
Well thats it.... Im 17 and Bisexual. Because of this I am harased daily at school.

ooow battlecat that really sucks Not able to come out because of your culture/society . Like when you have a homophobic dad in an accepting society its not as bad as not able to come out at all because of these general thoughts. Personally I'm only out to one friend. Coming out wouldn't be a big problem, just rather wait till I go to Uni and let everybody know from of day 1 then.

I'm not out to anyone, but I do want to come out soon to my friend. She is all for gay culture and acceptance. So that won't be a problem. I havn't told her yet because I wasn't really sure I was gay until I came here. I guess this sums up how the GYC has also helped me. If the Reds don't beat the Cubs... Hell is going to break loose

i came out to my mom when i was 14. at first she didnt believe me, but then a few semesters when i was still a lesbian she accepted it. my mom's cool like that. its my dad thats the problem. see, he's one of those people that considers homosexuality a joke. he's not homophobic, per se, but he thinks its funny ppl "choose" to be that way, he jokes about it, and he just doesnt think its natural. the thing is, i have no clue how he would react. he might say, "ok." or he might yell and be all pissed. at least if a parent is blatantly homophobic you know how they would react. i'll probably not tell my dad until im in college.
