Hey, I hope this works, I can't work a computer to save my life. I'm devoutly atheist (I love oxymorons ) I came out to a devout christian, who was also the guy who I liked...I don't recommend that . Anyway, that got me to question Christianity, and God himself. Christians like to attack homosexuality by sodom, but when the Bible is translated directly, without the translators' bias, it says they want to meet the two angels, and plus that is in the Old Testament. If Christians went by what was in the Old Testament now, just about everyone would be stoned for eating pork, or even wearing fabric with two types of cloth maker thingys (like wool and cotton shirts, English isn't my strongest class, as you can tell.) And when the Bible's authors comdemned homosexuality, it was in the context that they were using gay sex to worship idols. Anyway, I am way off topic with what I started with. Hi!

I'm athiest myself; I couldn't beleive in god when I was younger because I thought "if god (as in the christian one) is real, thenit is also possible for all the other gods from different religions to be real, but most religions say that theirs is real and the others are not". I couldn't validate to myself why one god is real while the others just aren't.
My grandma is a semi-religious protestant (she goes to church but not always, and I have no idea whether she deeply beleives herself or was brought up that way; her being brought up in the 30's), and one of my aunts is a spiritualist. I can bond with her more because she accepts other peoples religion and faith without question so long as it isn't pressed on her, and I admire that and feel the same in that respect.

I am Methodist. That was kind of hard growing up, considering my mom was raised Baptist, my dad raised Mormon, and my stepdad raised Catholic, but I always went to church with my friends and the Methodist church just fit me better.
I can see how people can get fed up with religion, especially Christianity, because there are a lot of hypocrites out there who say they believe in Christ and use that to push their conservative, homophobic propoganda, when we know for a fact that the words translated in the Bible as "gay" homosexual" and "effeminiate" did not mean "gay", "homosexual", or "effeminate" in their original Hebrew, or even in their later Greek. Most of the time, when the Bible referrs to homosexuality, they were talking about old pagan ceremonies where guys would sleep with other guys as a way to worship their gods.
Even the intolerence with other religions is just a hypocritical pile of shit. Take the contant war in the Middle East where the Jews, Muslims, and Christians have been battling it out for years to see which religion is the "right one". If you look at the core of those three religions, you see the same thing: a message from the same God, no matter what you call Him, to treat others fairly despite their differences and to help those less fortunate than yourself, and that God is good and will forgive you your sins. All the other stuff is just fluff to fill the page, most of it concocted during the Middle Ages when King What's-His-Face of England tried to brainwash his people with "Christianity".
Anyway, that's my spin on things: no matter what religion you are, you've got to just accept and move on. Differences happen
