The GYC has helped me find others like me. However it has also confused the hell out of me. I kind of don't know who i am anymore. But i think this is a good thing.

Hm. The GYC gave me an outlet where I can be me and not worry about being vulnerable to closeminded attacks. I have met some truly incredible people on this site who have made me feel so much more self aware and ... happy, lol. Best part is that nobody here solicits and makes me uncomfortable.
And the emoticons are extraordinarily sensational, hahaha.

I guess I have to say that the GYC saved me. I'm not lying when I say that I was an emotional train wreck before I found the GYC. Before I came here, I was depressed and cut myself to feel better. I live with my homophobic dad who is an alcoholic and I never see my mom because she is working 24/7. My dad tells me all the time that gays are sick and immoral. He tried to turn me straight by cutting off my connection to friends he thought were gay and giving me Playboys. He tells me he's samrt and not to try and see my friends he doesn't like cause he will find out, but he is really stupid cause I gave all the Playboy's away and see my friends all the time. I was considering running away when someone told me about the GYC. When I came here people were so nice and made me realize that I'm not alone and that there are many gay people. I have to say the the GYC is my hero. Well one of my top 5. lol.

The GYC wow 2 or 3 yrs now since ive been on here and met so many wonderful people and i couldn't thank them enough. Met some very very amazing people ones who i connected with and could chat hours with and still do, even made some great friends near me, that are amazing great cool guys. And i'll never forget the random chats with Hamish about "chavs" for hours long in the old chat room =D.

well i onli came out like 10days ago n my gf was a member so i asked her did she think it was a gd site n she sed yeah so i thought i will just register n check it out. Well it has been more help than i thought it would be!! I can read wat other people have done how they came out, problems they had with their parents etc etc etc n it makes me feel more in the majority than a minority and tht i am not the onli 1 n lots of peeps have difficulties!! Also u can get advice meet new people etc i just think it is great!!

It hasnt really other than meeting new friends. But what i really want to happen is meet gay friends around my town (which is brampton Ontario)...

How the GYC has helped me? Im made LOADS of friends on here, Some that could replace my day to day friends, they make me feel so welcomed, this place is so inviting, before the gyc i didnt let no one know who i was, what i was or where i was, now that im used to this place for almost two years, i let everyone know who, where and everything on my profile,

How The GYC has helped me? In so many words to choose from, the GYC plays a magnificent role in my life. Since I discovered myself and this website, I've discovered the most warm hearted people. It's these people, you people, who not only guide me but so many others. Its extraodinary how I sit in school, and think to myself of something someone said, and how it affects me, instructs me, and guides me.
To me, it's not how the GYC has helped but how it helps me everyday. All I know, is that almost everyday, I look forward to hearing someone give me or someone advice and how its helped me or them or just the great general qualities of being connected to a community like GYC. Thanks GYC, I think the creators definitly deserve a pat on the back, and everyone else who makes this place a reality.

I guess i'll be the spoiler outta the bunch but the gyc hasn't helped me much. Considering I live in one of the most remote places(South Carolina), it's hard to connect with people. I kinda feel angry when see everyone chatting and hooking up with others and making close firends because i know they all live near eachother. So the gyc isn't really doing nething for me except making me have alot of regrets.

theGYC literally changed my life. I joined because a friend got on my nerves talking about how bad homo's are crap. I finally decided I needed to experience an area where I was welcome. I joined and for the first few months found nothing or anybody. Then i met somebody who changed my life, he knows who he is  I went from being an insecure wreck to being confident in who i am in relation to sexuality, im no longer shy as theGYC chat helped with that. And most of all it really just showed me that im not alone, there are thousands of other people just like me going through exactly the same things. TheGYC plays such a big part in my life.

The GYC has changed my life unbelievably. I know its a cleché but its true. This is my story.
On the 05 September 2006 (my first night as a member of GYC) i got a message from a guy who turned out to be the most important person i will ever ever meet. Since that day just over a year ago, multiple times a day i have talked to this guy and we have gone through so much together. We are two of the closest friends you will ever come across.
For this i want to thank the GYC and this special guy (he knows who he is and I dont want to name him because he can be quite shy) and i hope this website can be as good to you as it has been to me.
