I would go for LoveFool by the Cardigans.
Its ace! Especially if you are still slighty in love with the person.
If not, go for Cought Out There by Kelis. Its great.

Creep by radiohead I just got dumped a couple of days ago and all I did was listen to that song ever and over again because I usually feel worthless after a breakup I usually listen to dont speak by no doubt aswell

Id listen to either James Blunts,Goodbye My Lover or Christina Aguilera,Beautiful ,Both always seem to make me so depressed and I hav to stop myself even thinking of the names as they are so sad,x

Any songs that dont have any lyrics about love or joy. Soley instrumental music is usually a pretty safe option. I got dumped a few of days ago (by a self-centred moron) so "i f**king hate you" by godsmack has been a favorite lately, lol.

Any of Damien rice's Album "O" can bring tears to my eyes even if I'm just feeling slightly down. I love Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. because he's just so talented and incredibly uplifting to listen to. Then again if I'm not being a moody git and trying to get over it I'll set my ipod to Jamiroquai and dance round the house (when there's no one in obviously) or chill to Bedouin Soundclash

I recommend these two, both equally depressing:
- Autumns Monologue by From Autumn To Ashes
- Little Bear by Guillemots
From what I can make of it the first one is about a break up that seemed unfair and the-end-of-the-world-esque by the person singing
And the second I think is about two people who have to break up a relationship as it's spiralling out of control and it's hurting both of them.

first of all I ditto Red's quote from Heaven Forbid by the Fray

and a bunch of others. sitting waiting wish by jack johnson is another good one, so is flake. and pretty much anything by Everclear and alot of Nirvana, when i'm heartbroken i tend to o.d. on Everclear and Nirvana (the bands, not the alcohol or enlightenment).
