PowerPC FTW.
I have a 1.5ghz G4 and that would thrash the socks off a P4 ~2.8ghz.
But alas, Apple are dumping PowerPC and gone to Intel (shudder)

If I could have an AMD Mac, I would be in heaven

Jake!!!

You know...one day...just one day, I will get a better PC than you. In the mean time, please try to keep the core temperature of you processor down as not cause any more global warming and melting of the polar ice caps

You are sooooo right about the Intel quad core. AMD is still and always be better (I feel like being controversial ).

I have an

nvidia 6800 GS (256 mb, excellent card)
1GB RAM
SATA2 120GB HD
3ghz Duo Core Intel CPU
Some sort of uber fast sound card and

I have windows XP Pro and SuSe Linux installed and can boot to both.

Some day this month, I will be able to afford the OQO. Its the world's smallest vista capable PC.

Lets talk wattage for a second...
Some Pentium 4s can suck out 300w - that's like 5 regular lightbulbs!
Intel is melting the ice caps

Whereas AMDs run much cooler....

But IMHO, the PowerPC G4 is the best. How does the equivalent to a 2.8ghz P4 running at just under 30W sound?
If everyone ran G4 Macminis or iMacs, the world would be saved!

As for Linux, I just installed SUSE, which on an Apple computer is *not* easy!
But I like it, if only i could get wireless working.

Vista

Tiger has been way ahead of Vista, and with Leopard coming out in Spring - be amazed
