Hmmm. Intel got my vote. Always been reliable for me

AMD.
First of all, despite all the publicity that Intel gets, they're innovators. As others have mentioned, they were the first to come out... with 64 bit processors, that is.
Secondly, they are innovators not only in technology but in price. An AMD processor has almost always been cheaper than it's intel counterpart, but yet AMD still maintains an amazing standard of quality.
And then there is the issue of Intel supporting all sorts of 'copyright protection' BS, which I am strongly opposed to has it strangles the user into a monopoly rather than protecting against any sort of copyright infringement.

this is a hard one, as a site owner having to choose weather to fit my server with a intel or a AMD, iv always been a AMD fan but intel are much better for gaming, where AMD is better for doing more then one processes. But the latest intel range has defently won compared to AMD and AMD will soon be better but intel just develops way faster†Trenton† xxx

Look here kiddo. You are NOT leet. You just *think* you are because the morons at your school forgot how to use GPEDIT on your machines. Anyone knows that if you block "run" you can still access commands thru IE View Source (notepad) and NTVDM (Microsoft's New Technology Virtual DOS Machine) command prompt.
You see, when (like I did in a Win2k Virtual Machine) you block Run, IE View Source, *AND* the NTVDM Command Prompt altogether, there is NO WAY to run commands thru it, or, to bypass GPEDIT if the user profile is a limited one. Sounds like the techs at your school and my college would get on well -- at college they use this abominable program called Cleanslate which is basically a hard reset of any changes made whenever you log off/shut down the Windows NT system... -- but I can still acess GPEDIT...
A little off topic but I just wanted to prove that there is always one further step, and it takes a lot more than being a tester to be TRULY "leet".

If Macs are so great, why do you need Bootcamp, or paralells, or any other kind of emulation layer?
Sure, I love the layout (NOT OS/X, I mean like OS 8 and 9, and even System 7 ) but Macinsplosh just doesnt do it for me. I wanted this account deleted, but not much unlike MySpace, they wouldn't. Well, here I have a little something.

Though Macintosh is better for word processing, imaging, editing, DTP, surfing, number crunching and just general use... There are still apps that are for PCs only. Also, Windows (XP only - vista sucks) is better for gaming.

Ah well we are all entitled to our opinion.
To be honest, I cant attest to, or protest your opinion because I dont know enough about Macs (havent used one in YEARS) to do so.

AMD! So many people choose Intel solely on its publicity, but AMD is really the very best- AMD defies excellence. 1st of all: Intel is faster, but not as reliable. AMD, even though slightly slower, is a more reliable platform in comparison to intel. It has been statistically proven.
second: AMD leads in gaming. It features several technologies that help in GAMING. Not just "Raw processing power", but cutting edge technology that aids in graphic rendering and thread streaming.
third: Performance and innovation: AMD ROCKS! I have a HP notebook with an AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile processor clocking at 1.8 ghz per core, and i couldnt be happier. It can run 64 bit apps, and has 2 cores....REALLY improves apon anything. My best friend has a laptop with a dual core intel processor that clocks at 2.2 ghz per second, and my laptop seems to beat it in most things.....funny eh? Oh yeah, also more power conscious.
RESEARCH AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE Without evil there can be no good. Without temptation there can be no character. Without hate there can be no love. Without straight there can be no gay.

Not only have they invented 64 bit processing, they're on the route to the new Fusion chip which, as I quote a trusty PC-Format magasine will, "step-up function increases in performance-per-watt relative to today's CPU-only architectures." Quite simple, AMD innovate, intel follow in their tracks and take the publicity with their funky adverts.
Also, since AMD is nerd territory, and this is a nerd post, you kinda have to side with AMD =X

Just like to point out that PCs were specificaly made for word processing, number crunching and all other aspects of office work e.g. databases, software programing and so on. Only things that mac's have any particular use for is graphic design and some CAD.

Without the use of proper statistics and based on pure experience with the 2, I prefer AMD; although on my previous desktop I have encountered overheating and therefore constant restarting... But I be that has to do with a manufacturing error withe the connection between the heatsync and the motherboard. so i'll need to replace the mother board to get it running again... but I'm still going AMD to replace it, because i'd rather run that risk than go with something less "innovative" and "novel" as some say.
well, in so many words, GO AMD!!!
and I enjoy vista... i dunno if thats relevant, but I think I saw someone mention it. Atleast I don't hate you.
