What is everyone's favorite band/artist of all?

I just watned to get a feel of what most people listen to and see what is the most popular band out there and see what kind of music most people listen to.
Mostly I listen to old music mainly from the 60s and 70s. I also deeply enjoy Frank Sinatra and other jazz vocalists. Of course I also listen to techno, some reggae, ska, symphonic, and showtunes. I don't listen that much to modern day rock or punk. I rarely listen to heave metal. I don't know why I just enjoy a more mello type of music. I have been made fun of a lot for my taste in music, I'm not sure why but people find it funny that someone would enjoy old music. The bands/artists that I listen to mostly are Frank Sinatra(who is my all time favorite singer), The Beatles, Queen, The Stones, Led Zepplin, ABBA, The Doors, The Fray, Matisyahu, Nirvana, Relient K, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Neil Diamond, and the Venga Boys. So now tell me your fav bands/artists and fav style a music. I'm interested to see what everyone likes  .

I listen to everything I think is nice... lol... My main favourites would consist of: The White Stripes, The Mamas and the Papas, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Muse, Gary Moore, Deep Purple, and many others... I never liked Sinatra, but I think the people who like him for him is good in their judgement. I can't stand people who listen to artists because they're "in" and "classics"

I love listening to songs from the 70's. My favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, Rush, Yes and Chicago. Nothing beats a Chicago concert!

I'm into the new and the old stuff, and I have way too many fave bands/artists but my faves are: Nelly Furtado, ABBA, Natasha Bedingfield, Bee Gees, Scissor Sisters, Madonna and Queen. I always get made fun of the music I listen to, but honestly, who cares what other people think.

Well i have to mention Queen right? I think everyone loves Queen. They are just amazing, and everything a band should be.
Anyway its obvious by my name who my favourite band are. My chemical romance. I absolutely love them, every single song, on every album is great! Not only that but the songs and things they sing about mean so much. At first you just think, typical emo talking about death, but its really NOT. Its talking about so much other stuff, just using that as metaphor sometime so they get the target audience they want. And the songs are just simply amazing! Plus Gerard is awesome, Frank is hot........ WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?   Anyway yeah, my chem are just genious. gerards lyrics make them. Even now theyve dropped there emo image, they still sound amazing, and there songs mean just as much. Ive heard two from the new album coming out in October, and they are brilliant.
I also love Atreyu, but alot of people would dislike them. Pretty screamy. I just like them to go crazy too when im stressed. I also love Panic at the disco, again genious at lyrics, but the music isnt as good as MCRs. Still awesome though.
Oh and one band some may never have heard of. Say anything! There songs are great, really weird, but great.
Anyway, yeahhh i guess you may have noticed im into emo/punk/pop/rock =]
EDIT: i forgot Avril lavigne. All her songs mean so much!

I've got a real mixed taste in music , but My faves have gotta be Alanis Morrisette (Her songs are just so powerful and have meaning , especially Thank You which I believe is probably one of the best Songs ever written) Sheryl Crow , No Doubt and Gwen Stefani (although Gwen was in No Doubt I still think they sound really different but I love em both) , White Stripes , Goldfrapp , Cher (such a cliche but still lol You gotta love her) Madonna and I really like Dance too , even though it seems to have a bad image around here some of the lyrics are really meaning although some are utter crap , I guess the only music I dont really like is Rap , It just doesnt intrest me at all but I havent got anything against me lol Oh yeah I like Elton John (was amazing in concert) , Scissor sisters , Evanescence and Kelly Clarkson And Ofcourse Queen , I want to break free lol

I'd listen to anything..not much of a rap fan but I'm really open to all kinds of music. I love Queen too but my favorite bands are Radiohead and The Who. I also like Bjork and there's this Danish band I just found out l like 2 months ago. They're called Mew. Really cool band you should definitely check them out. I love Jeff Buckley and Ray LaMontagne too.

I love loads of music. Charlotte Church, Emma Bunton, Shania Twain, Abba, Madness, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, Sandi Tom... Endless really but I can't think of every one at the moment. But my favourite band of all time ever definately has to be...

You haven't heard of Mew before that?  Well, it's not really that strange seeing as you're not from scandinavia. I think their lead singer is hot....

Let's see, there are so many!!! I love a lot of bands, but my #1 right now would have to be KT Tunstall. she's awesome. I also love DJ Sammy, T.a.T.u, Keane, Gwen Stefani, Paris Hilton, Sara Paxton, Shakira, Madonna, Utada, Rihanna (Those last four rhyme, ha ha!) I also like Japanese music, my favorite singers from Japan would be Utada (She has both an American and Japanese record deal) Ayumi Hamasaki, and the cast of the live action tv series called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, which consists of Sawaii Miyuu (Sailor Moon), Hama Chisaki (Sailor Mercury), Kitagawa Keiko (Sailor Mars), Azama Myu (Sailor Jupiter), Komatsu Ayaka (Sailor Venus), Koike Rina (Sailor Luna), and Alisa Yoriko Durbrow (Kuroki Mio)

Hmm, My music seems strange to most western speaking people >.>
I love my idies and of course my Visual Kei though I perfer alor over english music>.<.... The artists I totally love are Diru, GazettE, Hyde, Gackt, Rentrer en Soil, Soroban, Asian Kung Fu, Miyavi, L'arc~en~Ciel, hide, Nightmare, X Japan, D, Baroque, High and Mighty Color, Ayabie, Mask, Porno Grafitti and DBSK, I think thats most of them...

I love music so much love all types, jazz, funk, pop, punk, hardcore, metal, ska, emo, drum n bass, grunge, soul i could go on and on..... everything but the three bands that i love the most are Thursday, The Used and Taking Back Sunday.

I have two new favorite people. one is Megan McCauley. she had like...2 songs on the Fantastic 4 movie soundtrack, and her single "Tap That" is in the new Veronica Mars commercials on the CW. my other is The Jonas Brothers. they have a song on the Aquamarine soundtrack and they recently redid the song "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid they're also really hot

lol....Well, first of all, I'm going to definitely have to go for the very stereotypical Cher......Hey.....Mannequins need love too.....And I'm going to go off the beaten path here when I say Aqua is my favorite band of all time. I can't help it.....Their songs are just so much fun! Other than that, there's Cascada, ABBA, A*Teens (I'm aware they're ABBA copies....I don't care, the blonde guy was fricken CUTE way back when), Ace of Base, Kelly Clarkson....All that good stuff.....Haha....And not one male singer to be found all by his lonesome.....

Gah! There are like no punk rockers on here! Where's the NOFX fans, or Against Me!, or Bad Religion, or AFI, or Green Day? (Although I will admit that the last two have gone a TAD emo of late.)
Other bands I les enjoys are Godspeed You! Black Emperor and A Silver Mt. Zion (two wowsome Kanadian post-rock bands, kind of like orchestral compositions and chamber music meets rock).
Electric Six (surprisingly, considering they don't relate to any other bands in my collection), Muse, The Decemberists, Belle and Sebastian, Hope of the States, Arcade Fire, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, British Sea Power, Franz Ferdinand, The Weakerthans and Modest Mouse are my indie staples.
My brother's band, Old Kent Road (get into them at http://www.myspace.com/oldkentroad) are a wowsome punk band.
As for ska, I go Streetlight Manifesto, Mad Caddies, Goldfinger, a bit of Sublime, and REEL BIG FISH.
Also, CAKE are good.
Your homowork (a typo, which I left for wit's sake) is to get into ALL or most of these artists. But especially Godspeed You! Black Emperor and A Silver Mt. Zion. You won't regret it. Oh, and Ludwig van Beethoven's Fifth and Ninth Symphony's (good for a bit of the old ultraviolence).
