i have really no idea y people do that. it is just what is set in there mind from what they see in the media and that. so they think what they see is real.
people stereotype just about everyone and most people do not even fin into the stereotypes. Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

I don't beleive all gay men carry the role of the opposite gender, just that it's more acceptable for us to cross the gender barriers than it is for other people. I sometimes like to take on a female characteristic, but I'm not as camp as christmas or butcher than meat. I think I'm fairly manly, but I'm not obligated to any one role.

I have never been super manly, just because I'm not the type of guy who likes to get into physical conflicts with others. On the other hand, I am a GAY GUY, meaning that I am a guy, and I like other guys, not a wannabe woman after guys. That's what I tell eveyrone who asks me if I wanna be a woman! End of story!
And people think this because of everything they see in movies, for instance. Gay = female gestures, shopping, gossip! Some people in real life act this way to get noticed, the attention of others, or god knows what.

i think some people mix up homosexuality and transgenderism. many times, gay men or women (girls or guys) have some typical "mannerisms" or enjoy activities typically associated with the other gender. it happens quite commonly in some small form or another, and many people, even those who are gay, have come to accept that as the way it is for gay people. i myself don't feel like i am a "man," i'm just not so interested in fashion and i like to do math and stuff.
