Well basically ive been learning a lot about Muslims in my history class and a lot of things have interested me about it and the current situation in Iraq. Well I am in the Air force and i have been to Iraq twice. I feel the Islamic community are a very peaceful one, its the radicals that give them a bad name. I have witnessed very good deeds that the Isalmic people have given to the American soldiers. Despite what people see on TV, i have witnessed first hand men, women, and children have come up to me and thanked me and asked for us not to leave. I spoke with an Islamic linguist and i asked him "Why does this peaceful community want to destroy us?" He told me that its not the Islamics its the radicals that believe that any other nation is a threat to there society. Well thats just some food for thought, hope you enjoy.

I agree with Gumdropster on the most part however if religion was illegal I'd like to see governments police that ban...It'd be an infeasible undertaking.

honestly im from a country which has both a chriian and muslim population and the saying that most muslims are peacefull is not true there are many examples across europe including Kosovo and Chechnya where muslims have done much bad not only before but up to this day the ethnic serbs livei n fear in kosovo because they are being attacked by the slbanians and the serbian government cant do anything about it, the muslims arent at all innocent or peacefull lest the fact, most of them are radicals i know from experience and coming from a home country where a high muslim population lives

Islam teaches the same values as Christianity and Judaism... they're all based on the same ideology. Acts of political violence (which are carried out by people all over the world, btw) by Muslims are generally done in the name of religion, and so Muslims have this terrorist-image about them but we can't label Islam violent because of what Muslim terrorists are doing, because we shouldn't forget what the Christians did during the crusades, and we stil see Christianity as a peaceful religion- right?

And even more recent than the crusades is Northern Ireland and the bombings by the IRA in Ireland and England.
In my opinion Organised religion is just stupid. All it causes is death despite the peaceful teachings of many if not all of them.

And you can't underestimate the fact that christianity killed ANYONE who wouldn't embrace it 1000 years ago when it was spreading. That's why it got so well spread.

ive read all posts and i learned things that make real think. you all make sense and in each post even if if found SlukeSerbs judgenment a little hard to read. i understand however how you must feel sluke.
what bugs me alot though is that idea of god whether he is muslin, christian jewish or whatever is being talk for by warlords of all groups. if people would just have their own personal religion which is talking to god str8 themselves in real not in rituals, than these warlords would have to fight themselves their war and kill each other. i beieve there is no holy war. the god i know is not at war hes at peace. those who fight are not religious persons no matter what they pretend.

thats not why christianity got so well spread. You dont like religion because something might tell you your wrong. There has always been religion and there will always be. We are people that are made to devote ourselves to something, thats what we do. Its natural.
