Hey all you Tennis lovers out there! Getting excited for Wimbledon? I totally am!
So who do YOU think is going to take home the prize for Men's and Women's?
My picks are Federer and Henin-Hardenne

I would like to see Myskina win womens, as she just lost to Henin-Hardenne like a week ago, so she deserves it i dont like seeing people lose alot. Its mean hehe. No, to be honest i just think when Myskina (am i spelling her name right ) is playing well, she is really good, and deserves to win.

Federer will most probably win Wimbledon again, but Leyton Hewitt is probably one of his biggest rivals for it this year. I dont like Hewitt, so i want Federer to win

Lol I like how you think And yes you're spelling Myskina correctly But I don't know...Henin-Hardenne is really ontop of her game and plus there's Hingis, Clijsters, and Willaims (last years winner) right behind her all playing pretty hot tennis so...not too sure about Myskina- in fact I've only seen her play maybe twice (not that THAT means much)

But yeah...Federer and hmmm not too sure about Hewitt...I'd <3 to see James Blake do well. I heard he has a really good road to the finals since he plays against some not-so-well-known seeds...

Hewitt's had an ankle injury and a baby daughter... I don't know if he's been training as much as he should.

Soccer's been the big thing here at the moment because Australia have never scored a goal in the world cup before and they made it to the second round (and got beaten by Italy 1-0 at the end ) . I really haven't heard too much about tennis lately. Someone mentioned Wimbledon on the radio or something and I was like... "WTF? Already?" ... hehe.. I used to play tennis.

I'd like to see Henin-Hardenne do well. She was always my favourite - even when she was still just Henin.

I'm picking Henin-Hardenne and Federer as well.

Oooh didn't hear the news about Hewitt But yeah after that I'm definitely sticking to my guns

Sad that tennis is being foreshadowed so much by soccer, but it's slowly gaining popuarity And yea, Wimbledon just began today although horrible rain delays x_X

Henin-Hardenne to play tomorrow! Yippppeeeeeeeeeeeee!

ahhh ok, not Hewitt then. I guess Ancic would be one of the only other real competitors to Federer, but yes, James Blake does have a pretty good chance of getting into the final. If its them two in the final though, I would say Federer would win. I watched part of Federers first match (dunno if he won though, guess he did, its him, if he didnt i look really stupid), and he was already playing pretty well, when Normally he doesnt really pick up straight away.

Anyway, im more interested in footy (soccer to you guys i guess), but i like watching tennis too, i prefer playing tennis to footy though.

Hmm Ancic... I don't know him well enough either.. But yeah Federer won his match against Gasquet. It was like 6-2 6-2 6-1 so he basically annihilated the poor guy.. Thing is Gasquet is like the 6th best grass player in the world..so really makes you think >_<

Also I'm sooo happy for Agassi he's retiring soon and I'm pretty sure he just won his first match against an unknown. Scared me for a bit...thought it would have been an upset .

Anyway watching Wimbledon! Happy Tennis all!
Ben

I've been watching and been a fan of tennis for years now... My favorite players were Andre Agassi and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, back when she was still playing... so naturally, I'm hoping Andre does well in his last Wimbledon! But I'm pretty sure Federer will dominate this one... certainly seems like it, he got one of the toughest draws I've ever seen a #1 seed get in a major tournament... and he flattened both Gasquet and Henman. Hewitt I suppose has a chance, Roddick too if he can play well enough.

On the women's side, it's so wide open... Henin-Hardenne is playing great fresh off the French Open win... but so many others are dominating their opponents. Kim Clijsters played well against the tough Vera Zvonareva, Venus Williams has had no trouble, Amelie Mauresmo double-bageled her opponent, Maria Sharapova played well... even Martina Hingis has a change! I'm loving the parity on the women's side... makes things so interesting.

I would pick Federer and... Henin-Hardenne, but only because she's on a high after the French Open win... but it could be anyone.

That's my two cents =D

Hey thanks Wecker

So yeah Federer has been having such a hard draw, and it's kind of frightening how effeciently he's wiping out his opponents...I mean Henman is no joke! I guess maybe he was out of practice because of his back injury last year? Hmm...not to sure about Hewitt being much of a problem, I mean I know he used to have a winning head-to-head record, but Fed is just on a role. Nadal seems to be his only problem in my eyes, but I mean this is grass.

I defiitely agree with you Wecker, the women's side is a bit ambiguous. I love how they're playing too. I kind of want to see Dementieva or Schnyder do well just because they are, in my opinion, the forgotten 10 ten players...but of course to win the championship, its gotta be Henin-hardenne, Williams or maybe Sharapova (easy draw AND she's the 2-1 favorite).

I'll keep on faithfully watching hope you all do too!

I don't really keep up with watching tennis (though I love playing ). However thought you guys may want to know that if you go to Wimbledon station you can get a really cheap bus to the courts and, if your lucky, get some last minuet tickets or have a picnic on Henman Hill/ Murrys Mound. Reccomend it for a tennis lovers day out
