This might sound either really cute, or really creepy, I'll leave that to you to decide ... but I've been "best" (mostly) friends with this guy for 7 years now.
I can honestly say I am in love with him.
Problem?
He's straight.
He knows about me, and I've told him I had a crush on him before, but I told him that I'm over it now. It's really, really hard everyday to be around him and not want to rip his clothes off. Okay, so I added that for a bit of comic relief, but seriously. Is there anything I can do to move on?
I'm holding out that as we go to different colleges in the fall, things will improve, but I never want to lose him. Not being able to be in a relationship with him is not as bad as losing him for life, so I dunno. I guess I am slightly stuck.

I had a friend like that. Then he found out how much I liked him, and things got tense. We tried to be friends, but I never stopped wanting to be more.
I ended up getting fed up of 'just being friends' and so 'stopped being friends' with him. Now I must find some other drug to get addicted to.
So, moral of the story, if you have someone else that can take your mind off him once you break contact, then go for it if you wish. If not, it can be an owie. You should always respect one's religious beliefs, however imaginary friends, delusional behaviour, a belief in a two thousand year old folk-lore should be treated by a professional.

Ya, I'd say the best thing to do is find someone else who you can focus those feelings on, and hopefully that will de-tensify your situation. If you're not living on the edge, your taking up too much space.

hi mate, i can kinda relate to your situation. and unfortunatley i don't think things will get better until you are 100% sure that you're over him.
moving to different colleges doesn't have to mean that you lose touch! you will still be able to talk to him. and because you're on a new scene you'll make new friends and new love interests.

I stayed the night at his house, things are okay, I'm working on getting over him. Whenever he talks about a pretty girl, it still kinda stings a little, lol.

I have been in this situation before i think that you should try and distance yourself from him. I know thats the worst case but if you don't you are just going to keep torturing yourself if you don't. "Blank stares at blank pages there is no easy way to say this. wow.. why not confront him? say.. you dont want to ruin your friendship.. but you think your in love with him.. see how he reacts lol.. make him a dinner lol.. i would be well surprised by something like that.. i would laugh it off until it hurts.. either hurts because of him not feeling same way or hurt from laughing.. if that makes sense.. hmm.. or. get a boyfriend? then you would be able to have him as a best mate again..

Mmm, just stop talking to him. Thats the only way to totally get over someone. I was in love with someone that wouldn't return the feeling so they stopped talking to me. It really hurt to lose them and i cried! But eventually, this will all be part of the past.
