Is it right for me to hate christianity and God even though my family has attempted to raise me as a good little christian boy? I honestly hate God for all the things he's done to me (including my sexuality), but I've come to terms with that as something I can't change. But when I first discovered it and the waves of depression that followed, I was completely overwhelmed by hate. The bible also states that God hates gays, etc. So why are they gay christians? To me, it doesn't make any sense. Why worship or believe in someone that hates you?

I second that.
I was raised in the same type of environment, except instead of hating god, I hated myself. (I tried all that praying crap and looking at it that god didn't really hate us and what not, but if god's going to change his mind all the time, fuck his cracked ideas.) After doing a bit of research though, I simply found that the entire concept about god was a load of bollocks, along with the vast majority of beliefs that are an intrinsic part of that concept. But be that as it may, study for yourself. Hatred for it's own sake will do you no good, and hating god is a waste of energy when there is no god. I suppose I can give you the names of some good authors if your into that. "Where we have strong emotions, we're liable to fool ourselves." - Carl Sagan

The thing is, I don't hate god to the point where I'll outright waste time and energy bashing him and thinking of things to express my hatred toward god. I just don't pray when my parents pray and I get really angry when my mother forces me to go to church. Isn't it right for me to hate church? And I'm afraid that if I come out to my mother she will go and ask people at church if god really hated gays...and then she'll out me to the whole church which basically is connected to my entire community. I don't think I'm ready for that kind of outting. But still, how do christian gays exist?

Where's Sxcriley? He seems to be the resident Christian guy.
Personally, I'm not fond of going to church, but that is because I'm forced... it's a part of my agreement to live here. Whether it's "right" or "wrong" to hate it, I can't give an answer, since right and wrong are not concrete concepts. I myself try to avoid hatred as a whole, since it tends to blind one towards actually seeing the true nature of things. Strong emotions such as hatred dissipate, so in the end you may very well go back to the church unless you subdue that and instead look at things from a objective focus. And I just noticed my signature, the quote by Carl Sagan applies nicely to this situation. So anyway, I don't think that church does any good unless you deceive yourself into actually believing in the teachings of that group. In that case, it can provide a high level of comfort and a nice social atmosphere and all that bollocks, but then cults provide the same thing, but be that as it may. In the end, deception is still deception whether one believes it or not. I can find just as much comfort in meditation, nature, or a good book as I used to feel in church. He's most likely praying for my soul after I started a thread debating the use of criminalising child porn to convict a 16yo recently. That'll be 20 Hail Maries and 50 Hallow be thy names change, thanks.
I'm an athiest, I've been that way for pretty much ever (besides, God never answered my prayer when I prayed for a bike ), and I don't waste a lot of time hating God or establishments that have manipulated his image. It only pisses me off from time to time when morals inspired by him affect me when they shouldn't be there in the first place, other than that, I just like to make fun of Christians like I like to make fun of just about everyone, and for the same reason, sanity.
In your position it's probably best to stay in the closet, at least for now, until you're financially independent. How do christian gays exist? A lot of internal cognitive disonnance. You should always respect one's religious beliefs, however imaginary friends, delusional behaviour, a belief in a two thousand year old folk-lore should be treated by a professional.

Where better to go to get off if your a gay boy than a group that has other kids like you doing exercises in little more than short shorts. Had I lived in the same age and been of that age group I would have joined. Of course the other option is death camps, so the choice is quite simple. If they treat you any other way or shun you, then they willb e the ones denied before God. Remember, the bible, and Jesus, preached love thy neighbor (love those around you), and to treat others like you would like to be treated. So they can cram their little high horse attitude up their ass because they themselves aren't perfect.
By the way, God doesn't hate you, it says in the bible that he loves all his children. So don't let them convience you that he hates you. If they don't do that, then they will try reading bible quotes where it says that "gays are an abomination," well the truth is that most of those quotes are actually talking about rape and child molestation witht he same sex. Nothing about real homosexuality.

Well it's whatever you want to believe because you are you, and nobody can change that.
I was supposed to be raised as a Christian, however I just didn't believe anymore. My mom is Hindu and my dad is Catholic and everyone seems to get into religious fights occasionally nowadays. So it all just added up, and now I just don't know where I'm going. I think I just follow more of my mom's values than my dad's.

You're of course entitled to whatever feelings you have about God and Christianity, but God would never hate you. He loves everyone.
Yeah, at some points in the Bible it talks about gays being bad and whatever, but you have to remember that even if it was the word of God it was recorded by humans, so they had a chance to throw in their own ideas. Obviously lots of people dislike homosexuality, so they may twist it that way. A lot of modern Christians twist those words to turn them against homosexuals :/
Logically, God probably wouldn't give us such deep, vital emotions if we weren't supposed to feel them. Don't let anyone at church make you think there's something wrong with being gay. God loves everyone no matter who they are. Hope that helps.
And I agree that if you're parents are insane-type Christians, wait to come out.

The bible actually gives really unclear teachings about homosexuality. Any one who tells you that God hates you because you are gay is lying and they don't know the bible one bit.
In one of the epistles in the New Testament, the writer mentions a time when the Israelites (God's people in the old testament) did a lot of wrong things. One of the things the writer mentions is that men laid with men and did detestable things. But it never says that it is a sin, However the bible states that marriage is a sacred bond between men and women, meaning that gays, in God's eyes, can't get married. It also states that fornication (sex outside of marriage) is a sin, meaning that any gay sex is, in God's eyes, a sin.
Just thought I should clear it up with people, because a lot of people have a lot of misinterpretations of what the bible says about homosexuality.
The church's that target Gay's are wrong in doing that, the bible says that sin is not ranked and that all sins are equal, IE, in God's eyes, lying is as bad as killing. They never seem to target criminals or drug addicts in the same way as they do Gays, it's sad.

Oooooh I like all this "yay gay christian" stuff. Makes me happy =D
Here's what I have to say in response to the original question: If going to church is the only way you can prevent yourself from coming out, go to church! It won't kill you, and at the same time you don't have to hate it. Sure you may disagree with some of the things they say but if worse comes to worse just forget all the supernatural things and look beyond the exterior of religion. In essence there are many good values in christianity (doesn't take a genius to work that out), so when you go to church just try and absorb as many good values as you can. Hopefully that works for you =D
