Any Agnostics or Atheists here? I am Agnostic. Here we can discuss things like why we believe what we believe. I guess I am Agnostic because I do not have all the answers and accept the fact that the existence of a god is unknowable.

Leon?! You're supposed to be DEAD!
But how could you suggest even the possibility of a god of such unimaginable incompetence as there must be if God exists? Music that people with taste are listening to this week:

Im athiest. i dont believe in any godly presence. im more of a scientist. i rely on facts and figures. plus religion just seems like a load of bull to me.....only there to keep many of us from going insane. Plus its true that you begin to lose your religion when sum1 u love dies. i experienced that alot and gave up many years ago to start questioning things. Well, I'm a Buddhist, which is a non-theistic religion, but I'm also agnostic. I became that way after I started to examine/question my Christian beliefs. I can't find enough evidence to support the existence of a God/god, but not enough to disprove God either. So, I'm agnostic in that aspect. I don't know . "Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."

I'm agnostic. Some would call me atheist because I don't accept organised religion as being anything more than man-made bullshit and I don't believe in a "supreme being". I'm not sure I believe in an afterlife either, I think we only get one shot (frightening thought, but there you are). But at the same time I'm not so arrogant as to assume that we're all there is. I just have no idea what else there could be. An agnostic, I can't remember his name, once said "I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure." That's it really. Sorry to be an arse here, but I'd like to clear some stuff up.
When someone asks you, "do you believe in God?", you cannot say "I'm an agnostic". That simply doesn't make sense. It's either a "yes", "no", or "undecided". Agnoticism is the belief that God, or a higher being cannot be proven or disproven. I'm an atheist personally, I was undecided about a year or two ago, but now I've "seen the light"! Stating your opinion doesn't make you an arse- so now i'm going to state mine, lol. I'm sorry but you can't just lump people into those three categories, humans and their individual beliefs are much more complex than that. Also you seem to have confused agnostics as being the 'undecided'- we are not. Just because we are neither atheist nor theist doesn't mean we are the middle ground, the fence sitters. I myself am very firm in my beliefs- that there is no God or a higher being the likes of which humans generally think of but neither is there absolutely nothing other than what we see. There is a great difference between doubting and accepting what you know you can't understand and that is what leads to confusion. This is actually very hard to explain, so I hope at least some of this made sense. "Calling atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair colour"- Don Hirschberg

Lol, i know, it just pisses off some of my friends when I start getting all serious like
I'm sorry but you can't just lump people into those three categories, humans and their individual beliefs are much more complex than that.
I believe you can in that situation, what other answer can there be but "yes", "no", or "undecided", when asked "do you believe in a God(s)/Higher Being(s)?"
Uh uh, agnosticism is the belief that one cannot prove or disprove the existence of God, this was the original definition of the word, which others have confused. I myself can be described as an atheistic agnostic, fo I believe there is no God, yet, I believe one does not (yet) have the means to prove or disprove God. However, as there is a great lack of empirical evidence and logic for there being a God, I do not believe one exists.
However, there you have it, you've answered to yourself. You are an atheist, it doesn't matter whether you believe that there may be some object/being higher/greater than humans which is/are outside our spectrum of knowledge, the question is "do you believe one exists?" You stated firmly; no. Saying that though, just because three categories have been given, does not mean one cannot add onto those given categories, other categories which help to show who one is in a more detailed manner.
But yer, I make loads of double posts on this site, never do it on other sites and it pisses me off

To anyone who constantly tries to disprove Christianity: what compels you to do this? Do you feel like your helping people? Just a general question, I'm seriously not trying to create an argument or anything...

Why does one criticise/disprove anything? If we disagree with it, then we'll criticise or discredit it, everyone does so, including (some) Christians on subjects such as homosexuality or gender roles. I personally can get along very well with anyone with religion, most of the time I won't criticise them, but now and then we do get into little respectable debates. ANTIFA

"To anyone who constantly tries to disprove Christianity: what compels you to do this? Do you feel like your helping people?":
In a way, yes. I don't do it out of hate, I do it because (being a former Christian) I feel like Christians are being mislead with their often blind faith and faulty belief system. I feel like if I could show them the loop holes in their belief system, then it would make life better for them and everyone else, since they wouldn't be practicing and spreading something that I feel does more harm than good. Well when your exposed to a certain religion and start to question and pull away usually people try to disprove it. I guess it would be the same if I was raised Muslim and would try disproving the Koran etc... but I focus mainly on Christianity but sometimes debate on other religions the best I can since I am not as familiar with the others as Christianity.

Palachinov: i understand ur reasoning, but who are u benefiting?
titojtd: imo, as a christian, i don't feel that ur helping me; frustrating me would be more accurate.
LeonTrotsky: Well when your exposed to a certain religion and start to question and pull away usually people try to disprove it. I'm slightly confused by this. Are you suggesting that u are still confused about religon and ur trying to disprove it in order to persuade urself that its not true/made up? or am i totally wrong and u mean something totally different "It doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world." - Rick

Lets say you deconvert from Christianity, you start to question things. Perhaps "disprove" is not the right word to use, maybe challenge?

Is that a question, if so i missed it. Or are u agreeing with my statement, except replacing disprove with challenge. "It doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world." - Rick
