My thoughts on this, i think within reason everyone should have autonomy to do what they want to do without fear of being arrested or put on trial. People are ready for sex at different ages, ive spoken to gay guys who said they were sleeping around at 13, i myself didn't start doing stuff with guys until i was 18 mainly because i was in denial.

I sort of blame society, society has always created a series of imaginary social ills and 'sins' that people torment themselves with, essentially making people feel guilty about things that they shouldn't feel guilty about. Were only human and we all have desires.

Having said that i believe it is completely irresponsible for any adult to have sex with lets say a 13 year old and it is quite rightly a criminal offense, there is a huge gap in mental and psychological development, any adult of even average intelligence would be able to play mind games with a confused young teenager and manipulate them into doing something they don't want to.

Its all subjective really and each case should have its own merit, a 25 year old and a 14 year old is a no-no IMO, but an 18 year old and a 14 year old can just be written off as one of those things.

Hah well age differences aren't that big a deal I don't think. I mean Monica and I are 2 and a half years apart, not bad, but I mean...it's really the individual's choice. And if it's mutual love, and they're both ok with it, then I think that it's no one's business but their own.

I don't age really matters. If you fall in love with someone who is much older then you, or much younger, then you can't help it. Age is nothing but a number.

I usually say that:
1 year(ish) below it okay, and two years(ish) above it okay.
Obviously I can make exceptions because it's nothing to do with ethics, I just don't find people that much older or that much younger attractive in a relationship sense ^^

umm..for me the age approval thing will probabaly change up as I get older..for now I'll just say my current liking.Being 16 I would prefer someone from 14-17 or maybe 18.So the most is probably gonna be a 2yr age difference..although it really much depends on the person.Anyhow my heart and brain will choose the right someone..and they shall be special, lol.I'm very hard to get personally anyways..I don't throw myself to anyone..they really do have to be a special person..in fact I have not been in a relationship yet because of the fact that I haven't found the right person.Anyway, enough about me,I'm done haha.

My belief is that of a progressive society. I am under the impression that many fear individual, collective harmony -- An oppression of individuality within the masses is what is evident. Children are, and have been for many years, disrespected for the vast majority. While I'm of the belief that about 98% of the collective young are far too laden with immaturity to ever consent to a sexual relationship, those last 2% of people are despised more than ever. And they are in no way singled out to be likened to a negative persona -- No, these 2% of children are hated more because they understand that they don't deserve such harsh treatment as the 'age of consent.'
I am one of the disenfranchised.
Those 2% of the young know fully well that they aren't going to give their bodies up to men they disrespect, because this 2% are a logical group. There are intellectuals, regardless of age, and one could look at a single age group and say "too ignorant." Once again, this is true for a majority, but to discriminate against the logical (Perhaps even more intelligent than yourself) is pure ignorance. Age plays absolutely NO factor in determinance of permitted age group, and shall never do so, in every basis of humankind's most true reality. A human body does not single out certain appearances and ages for love -- No, it gives itself over to real, chemical attraction. A 20 year old man attracted to a 14 year old boy, or a 14 year old boy attracted to a 20 year old man -- As much as you'd hate to admit it, this is a very scientifically probably and natural process. Now let's put this 14 year old under the rationality that he is intelligent. Let's just say he's far more intelligent than yourself, assuming that you're of the age of consent.
Imagine his suffering knowing that he cannot truly love this other person, he can never share a moment of appreciation for this older gentleman's existence. Ponder upon the suffering there for moments, and stumble upon a fact of life: This has happened, and will happen, for the rest of time, because this is simply nature.
On the other hand, imagine the 14 year old is an absolute idiot, and the 20 year old is an abusive, sick freak with no empathy. There we stumble upon a problem; Child molestation is a grand problem in that artifact. This form of relationship is the cause of the age of consent -- And I agree with the age of consent for protecting the ignorant from the plotting and evil. However, I think restricting relationships between two very innocent, secure, and loving people simply due to age is ridiculous, and it is a flaw that our society must face. It is despicable. I am of the personal idea that relationships holding age gaps should be respected and tolerated, but only if both individuals are intelligent enough to, and do, consent.

Perhaps with this post I have made or lost some friends -- I only believe in speaking one's mind, as is the USA, my home country's, foundation. I may note that this 2% is equally mature enough to vote, by my opinion.

Age difference for a relationship........interesting subject, ha ha. Well im kinda in a relationship that is only an internet relationship at the moment. Me and this other guy are takin it 1 step at a time, just to make sure we are the right specail sum1 for each other. We are 2yrs diference give , take half a month and I wouldnt have a relationship with any1 any more than 2yrs difference. For instance im 18 in june and the other person would have to b between 16 and 20. I do this because it means that both of us will av more in common. I do feel luv for other people outside the age gap i mentioned, but i would never have a relationship with him and wouldnt even tell him how i felt about him. I av neva been in a sexual relationship and im waiting for that specail someone. Until then i guess i aint giving my body to no1. But for the age gaps i think as long as you're happy and luv each other it doesnt matter about age gaps as long as it aint sum rediculas difference like a 14yr old with a 25yr old coz to me that just sounds wrong straight from the start. Sorry if i offended any1 but these are just my thoughts
You cannot see me nor can you hear me. Im swift with a bite and as quick as a kite. I hide in the shadows.

Honestly who cares, i feel like love goes beyond age. If there is a 12 year old and a 99 year old making out in the park, well good for them. Atleast they found someone to be with
I'm just a regular guy. I have a scruffy beard that is somehow orange even though the hair on my head is brown. That sums it up.

Using the sick emoticon really shows how much you accept it. I think people need to seperate what's theoretically okay for them, and what's okay for them in reality. Theoretically, I have no problems with huge age gaps in relationship, but if I knew my 15 year old friend was considering dating a 65 year old, I'd problem suggest him/her not to. My age cut-off is just a few decades lower; the 40's.

I don't think it's the age that matters, but the maturaty of the couple. I've known some young bucks who were years more mature than their age, and the opposite also, i've known some young bucks that were way immature for their age.

My parents are 12 years apart, got married when my mom was 18, dating before that. They just had their 20th anniversary and happier than ever, both are very successful. So i think maturaty and happiness in the relationship is what matters, not the age so much.

well, im 14 and i don't exactly date to be honest. Personally i think it depends on the person and how mature they are, but if i was to date probs up to 3maybe 4 years older, i know it seems a lot atm, but if i was like 20 and they were 23 it wud seem fine. I dont get it with like a 14 year old and a 17 year old, btw im not dating atm lol.

I am 20 years old this year, and I actually prefer guys aged between 25 and 35. Hehe. I guess older guys give me a sense of security, and it's my innate desire to be taken care of that makes older guys especially attractive.

I generally don't look at age too much. Obviously too young and there can be some serious problems, but I look at the person more than their age. I've dated a few guys under 16, and I'm 22 now, so now it's getting to more more of an issue from a general view point, but a few years ago I don't think it was.

In Australia it isn't just legal at the age of 16 though, from 16 to 18 the partner can be no more than 2 years senior, so it's a confusing law, and I've never been one to stick too closely to it.

In the grand scheme of things there are many age gaps in adult relationships that if you thought back, would look really wrong at some point in time, but probably weren't active back then. So ultimately I don't see an issue with age gaps. You like who you like.

The 'Age Gap' in a relationship is always something my friends and I talk about. I personally, wouldn't go out with someone who is two years younger than me, at the moment. When it comes to someone older, I think I'd say two years max?
But I suppose if you're happy, you're happy. To an extent, big age gaps seem to confuse me a tad?
I know someone who went out with a 36 year old whilst they were 17, and I didn't really agree with it, but hey, not my place to pass judgment.
