I see a lot of you had came out to your parents, I really admire you guys, At my city and culture, it is best not to let anyone know or you'll be absolutely dead. My dad used to say "Ha! If I found my son GAY, I'd rather kill him." It is hard to keep it all inside, anyway, how about you guys~?

my parents dont know,
but two of my friends know
and theyre cool with that
haha
one of them that knew is a girl
so we always go out to the mall shopping
and then also check on guys
"hey hey! look over there!"

Hey,
I came out to everyone when i was 14. I would be lieing if i told you that everything has been wonderfull, ive has some pretty nasty shit happen to me. But, im free to be me, and i would NOT change that for anything.....so despite some of the hardships it was worth it. It makes me really sad when i hear about guys like you living in societies that are so unaccepting....my hope is that someday you will be able to live someplace that its ok to be yourself. Good luck to ya man!

My parents know, as well as some of my friends from work. No one at school does, and that will stay the same until university.

My parents do not know. I would like to come out to them by the end of the year. I think that will be my resolution for 2008. As soon as i come out to my parents. I will come out completely. I just dont want to keep this bottled up inside anymore. I am bisexual. I live men and women equally.... "All men are created equally" that means we have every right to love who we want to love.
A couple of my friends know and there girls. Everyone else who knows is bi or gay.

Not able to come out because of your culture/society . Like when you have a homophobic dad in an accepting society its not as bad as not able to come out at all because of these general thoughts.
Personally I'm only out to one friend. Coming out wouldn't be a big problem, just rather wait till I go to Uni and let everybody know from of day 1 then.

Four friends know, no one in my family will know until at least college... too scared of getting thrown out of the house right now, though I have the sneak suspicion that my grandmother might know.

I'm not out to anyone, but I do want to come out soon to my friend. She is all for gay culture and acceptance. So that won't be a problem. I havn't told her yet because I wasn't really sure I was gay until I came here. I guess this sums up how the GYC has also helped me.

i came out to my mom when i was 14. at first she didnt believe me, but then a few semesters when i was still a lesbian she accepted it. my mom's cool like that. its my dad thats the problem. see, he's one of those people that considers homosexuality a joke. he's not homophobic, per se, but he thinks its funny ppl "choose" to be that way, he jokes about it, and he just doesnt think its natural. the thing is, i have no clue how he would react. he might say, "ok." or he might yell and be all pissed. at least if a parent is blatantly homophobic you know how they would react. i'll probably not tell my dad until im in college.

My family hasnt heard it directly from me, but they know! im not ready to tell them yet though!

My parents do not know I'm gay. However, I know that they would be very supportive if I did tell them(since we've had a discussion like that when I was like 10 but at the time I didn't really know what gay meant). Honestly, I don't really feel a need to come out to my parents so I don't but I probably will when I get my own place and start dating. I've only come out to one person one of my best friends but I came out as "bisexual" so I guess it doesn't count.

My parents & relatives and most of my friends DO know, they're ALL very supportive and understanding.
The only other person I really want to tell, is my older brother Joe, he's away at college in Florida. He'll be back home in June, my parents say I could tell him by phone, but I want to tell him in person.

Everyone in my life knows except my sister. She's ten, y'know...it also doesn't help that my parents think she'll turn into a lesbian if she finds out because "she looks up" to me...Mwaaaaaaaa, how frustrating! I can't bring any boys home...

I told my parents on January 2nd. It was one of my New Year's resolutions. I came out to my uncle in August of 2006 because he's also gay and I figured he'd take it well. Which he did. I told a couple of my friends in like October or November of 2006. Almost all of my friends know now. The only ones that don't are the really religious ones pretty much. I have a feeling that if they find out they may not want to even talk to me anymore.. Kind of sad. Also, none of my brothers know. My older one who is 20 probably won't give a crap. He probably just shrug and be like "Whatever." But, one of my younger ones, who is 14, will probably annoy me about it and try to make fun of for it. And then I can just see him telling his little friends and whenever they come over they'll terrorise me about it as well. And then my youngest brother. I dunno.. I he's too young to even understand.

i'm out to my friends (at least, most of them, if they don't know its their own fault  )...and to everyone online of course.
i'm planning on coming out the 'rents soon. not that i fear anything going wrong...just...it scares me that they'd be disappointed or something...plus, my mom can be really awkward about stuff.
everything's gone smoothly so far. everyone's been cool about it.
i'm amazed how young kids are coming out now, such courage. i commend you all. it took me until i was 17 or 18 to even admit to myself i wasn't straight, let alone gay, and to be okay with it.
