How GYC has helped you

i thought it could be fun to know what's GYC in our life.
starting
GYC helped me feel free and gave me an open door to guys like me. before i was talking about being gay only with my family. today i can talk daily to 10 gay guys of near my age from 7 different countries. 4 of them are friends. all others are still new to me but i can already say that i learned from them. i can say opinions on forums where there is always a good thread or a good reply that makes you think deeper or laugh louder. ive became member only 2 months ago and there still are many tools i havent tried like blogs and many forums i havent read. forget about the chat though...not that its bad done but it comes from everywhere and i get all mixed up like typing in one screen and finishing in a second one giving some real funny situations...LOL...looking forward to participate more. thankx to those behing GYC...who are they ?....no matter who you are thanx anyway.

Wow.. this is quite impressive. Well, I guess it's good that you feel you've acheived so much as a result of being on TheGYC.
I have to say, though, that when in the chat rooms especially, it never ceases to amaze me how different and diverse people are. For instance, before I was a regular user, I used to be quite narrow-minded and only really have understanding of my own culture, beliefs and attitudes, but in the chatroom, my knowledge of different people and cultures has expanded, as has my tollerance for different kinds of people to myself.

I love the GYC. When I started I had told four people I was gay. Well, I had only told two of them. Since then, the GYC has helped me to come out. Everyone on here was so friendly. I have now come out to my best friend, my whole school and my parents. So, everyone. I feel so much better and it's great to know that there is always a huge number of people who are willing to help and advise you. It's wonderful.
Happy with a capital ;D

Wow what a great a thread this diservers to be gold plated! But as i am a poor boy i we'll have to settle with pinning it up for the world to see!
Hehehe when i joined there were only a handful of users and only a couple of posts a day. Now we cater to 20,000+ users! With over 200 forum posts a day and growing! here we're a community! Its a place to make friends and be safe! I hope everyone will enjoy TheGYC for a long time to come!

i know ive only been on the GYC a couple of days. but i love this place. being on an island with not many gays that are out who are repressed because of the local island mentality, its nice to talk to other people around my own age, because the gays that are around my age here, i have nothing in common with. and with me like meeting new people and making friends, i'm glad i found a place where i can freely chat about nonsense. its awesome

The GYC is still my only outlet and connection to other gay people. Being in a private and religious school, it's not exactly easy to find people who share a vital difference to chat with. Here, I can talk to guys from around the world and be free to be myself.
Props to whoever founded this website!

ive been out for xmas hollidays so i couldnt react to posts before today.

i can relate to all of you . i also add it made my mind real open. i now feel totally ok with me. each day i learn from gyc and i know im not alone. i hope too it lasts for long.

other than you tho...i'm still quite new around here and um, haven't really dived into the deep water yet. ... i'm not even sure yet if i want to, tho.

well, as i said...i do not even wish for anyone else like you. you're special and if there was more like you, where would that specialty go? you alone make me feel i'm not alone, and i can't be grateful enough for that. but thanks for the words tho, i appreciate them...you. *forum misses a hug and/or kiss emoticon*

First I want to say THANKS Fran, you're a great friend. You've made me smile, laugh and think more deeply.
The gyc has brought me together with new friends my age, actually of various ages from many countries besides my own USA.
The gyc has helped me be much more open about me. It has helped me to understand me more.
Thanks to the gyc and to Fran.

thx jay. im happy to be a smile in your life. you also knew how to talk to me and be strght forwrd with me. we share opinions and we discuss many others...a relation is made both side otherwise there is not a relation just two minds looking at each other without never connecting. thx again jay youve been a great friend to me

When i was going through an incredably hard part of my life, thegyc and alot of the people here were there to support me, make me feel like i still had a direction, and i thank them all for that

ya agree trulymauri. i havent had the bad times you had but ive noticed how supportative many people here are...and i dont know that many. but real most people here are open to llisten and share. thats real cool. its a place where i feel to belong

I havn't been here that long but I have to admit that reading all the coming out forums have been somewhat interesting, I'm out to my friends - all of them, just not family (Greek family - eek!). It's also helped me find some friends who are really really interesting to talk to and I've also enjoyed replying to most threads ^^, so it's helped me in various ways.

youre totally right rapidrat. i dint mentioned it in my first post but the coming out stories are something i follow.
i didnt come out to my dad purposely, he caught me. i didnt had time to plan any coming out, i didnt had any thinking about it. it was simply out of my mind. something i was keeping secret with 2 sex buddies. between us no question about keeping it invisible.
today im out only to my family and my best friend from kindergarden and i dont intend to go any further... at least, before any other coming out if any, im giving it a real and very deep thinking. so i agree with you, reading coming out stories is great learning. each one has his own story with things i consider doing and things i-would-never-do.

Oh yea, ALSO, the gyc gave me the confidence to talk with people about my sexuallity (my friends for now, next my family).
