problem uploading profile pic using hotspot shield

hey guys, im having problem uploading a profile pic...u see im using hotspot shield...a program which changes ur ip address to make it as if u live in the states, specificly white plains, since thegyc is blocked in my country, so anyways when i try uploading a pic,i browse it, then i press upload, it just takes like 50 seconds loading, and the page just refreshes and nothing happens...should i mention the pic is 467 kb and 300x500? and in .jpg format...any suggestions?
