I have always dated younger guys (Im 19) but I do believe big age gaps or different life stages matter. For instance, I have a year now in college and my exboyfriend was still in highschool, even though he was really mature for his age suddenly I was talking about clubbing and working and he was still talking about what had happened at school with his maths teacher or something.
I have always been aware that dating someone younger usually involves having to deal with some things like his parents knowing or letting him go out, but now as things in my life change I would consider dating someone closer to my own age so we can share more common things.
i have never had a proper boyfriend, but i had my first sexual experiance at 10, with people my own age then again later that year with someone who was 13. personally i beleive that helped me accept my homosexuality. so there thats hopefully a different perspective on this.
Well this is a contentious issue, and nobody ever seems to agree on it, i think that as long as both parties are consenting and they both understand and know what they are doing it is ok, all people are different, there are some very mature 13/14 year olds, yet there is some that arent...
my advice to you is dont lie to people about these things, if they are real friends they will accept it.
well apparently many teens going through this period experiment, both staright and gay, and also apperntly u havent fully decided if ur gay or not until ur 27!!!!

also i think the age different doesnt matter unless its with someone under the consent age thing, or if ur under and their over
if age isnt a issue within your relationship then y should it be a problem although i'd refrain from telling the parents (there generation doesn't like it) also to have ur other half reply to ur post and tell u that there is not a problem i tink the issue is closed, as for the 60 yr olds ewww!
I was just posting somewhere else about this actually. Age gaps are really annoying when you're still young. Most people are attracted to either older or younger guys, I happen to be attracted to younger guys. Not a problem when you're like thirty and think twenty six year olds are hot.
But if you're 18 and like guys 15-18.... it's frustrating ^^
The one thing that bugs me about age is more the younger the person the more likely a codependent relationship is to form.
I personally would date a 15 year old if and only if they had the maturity of somebody 17 or older and met all of the other requirements that I hold standards for.
Like every single person that I have talked too is 15 or 16 in my area is just really really too clingy for my taste.
But if you are in a relationship and you have 3 or 4 years apart (at a younger age) as long as you are both happy with it. I would say go for it.
I get really pissed off with the whole age thing anyway. I completely understand if it were a 50 year old and an 11 year old...that's horrible. But you're 17 and he's 13. He knows what he wants, I know I did when I was 13. With the whole 6 year old experience thing...almost all children tend to "play" with each other around those ages, so I'm not really sure that that would be counted as an experience.
If I had a boyfriend that was younger than me (like 13 and I'm 17), then I would ask my friends what they thought about older going with younger just as long as it's counted as "acceptable."

Age only matters in certain cases! You need to be aware of the legal side of this. Right now your relationship is fine because you are under 18. Once you turn 18 then it becomes a legal issue. If the two of you were caught having "relations" then the police would not care how madly in love you are. PEDOPHILE. That is the label you would have branded on you. So just be careful. I don't believe there is anything wrong with your relationship, but being an 18 year old myself I just wouldn't take the risk with someone who is underage! Hope that helps.
