Its all perspective.

to a 10 year old, one year is a huge length of time (to them, 1/10th of their life).
But, obviously, as you get older a year "shortens" (1/11, 1/12, etc... onwards to 1/60, 1/70... and for some, 1/100.)
So, bigger age gaps in older people are explainable by that...

At 16, I wouldnt have a problem with someone a year either way on my age, but much more than that, I would feel a tad... uncomfortable. Either, perhaps, being "controlled" or "controlling".
Just a thought.

The difference between a 13 year old and 17 year old is 5 years and a large intelligence gap. Since the numbers are small and its in the early years of development it looks like a big gap. The gap between a 1 and 6 year old seems much greater, and so is intelligence. But just think down the road... whats the difference between a 73 year old and 77 year old? Nothing really and the intelligence gap could be gone, with the 73 year old possibly being more intelligent. Just a thought.

to many people say were kids and we dont know wot we r doing,but i know wot i say and do. and no good and bad, and people gotta start to respect wot younger people want and help, if the love is in heart and not in ur pants and its the same sort of age its ok

You have to be careful in a relationship like that. When you're older, a few years difference really doesn't mean anything. But as developing human beings, it makes a HUGE difference. The maturity gap between a 13 year old and a 17 year old is GARGANTUAM.

But if you are happy and your boyfriend is mature for his age, than I'm sure it's all good.

As for what is a good age, I think any age you are willing to explore same-sex desires and you feel with your entire being that it's okay to explore and that perhaps you should wait until you're more mature, than it's the proper age.

People shouldn't do stupid things when they're young though, like have sex with a middle-aged man. You can contract something. Always be careful, and remeber, if you feel bad, you can always have a blueberry muffin! They sure cheer me up.

MY Grandparents have an 18 year age gap...hahaha. That's like me marrying a 1 year old

Sorry, I just thought I'd share that with you.

Being 19, the youngest guy I would get with would be 16...and I think that's quite young. But I have friends who are 16 and we get along great, so intelligence or anything like isn't an issue.
