I was just wondering if you came out to a friend first or a family member? and what it was like?

I personally came out to a friend first.

A friend who was a gurl who wanted to go out with me.

I came out to my mom during a game of cards. I won.

I was kinda forced out the closet. I wrote a love letter to a boy in my class, and my teacher found it, and told my parents. Yer no, for 'my own good' and all that.

So does that mean technically I came out to that boy first? I mean I never said, listen I'm bi, listen I'm gay. I just said. I love you.

Anyone else get grabbed from the closet kicking and screaming I wonder?

The first person I came out to was my best friend because I felt she needed to know and as well it stopped her from trying to set me up with her friends. I wasn't really forced to come out of the closet but when it came to telling my parents, I was looking for a way to tell them and they kinda provided it. They wanted to know why I didn't have a girlfriend I sat there and didn't say anything and they asked me if I was gay so I told them I was. It was a big relief

I came out to my brothers first. They kinda already knew anyway plus we get on great so it didn't change anything.

If I was able to tell them, friends would be no problem

i confided in a (also gay) teacher at school
he then proceeded to drunkenly tell my best friend at a restaurant he was working at
and the news spread like wildfire

oh yeh, this was on xmas eve
hence why i now despise christmas

i told my 2 best friends on monday (they're girls). one of them was a bit shocked at first, but now everything's all right. we're still best friends

I came out to my mum and she was so proud of me for it at 17 she took me out for my first gay club.
