I think, at the end of the day. If there were an all powerful deity, who loved us, which is what all you lovely christians seem to be saying. It would want us to be happy, as whats the point of creating something just to watch it destroy itself from the inside out? So thereby, it must be okay with it ^^

I refuse to accept that there is anything sinful in loving someone, be they male or female. It's about as far from 'sinful' as you can get, but of course the people who do tend to discriminate, be the religious or no, are of course ignorant sods. Make them gay for a day, then see if they can call it evil See if they enjoy it when they are told they are wrong, or are insulted or what have you. I am pretty sure that would solve their woes

I'm Catholic and from what I know about my religion, Yes God and Gays can go together....under certain circumstances. Sodomy is against the bible, however loving one of the same gender is not, So in other words, it's ok to love a dude if you're a dude or a girl if your girl, but you can't "do it"

My new interpretation. The Catholic Church promotes and welcomes love of all forms, thus making homo-sexual romance ok. However The Catholic Church is against sex without the intention of reproduction, and sex without marriage both of which are impossible as a homo-sexual. I am a Pagan and my religion doesn't condem homosexuality, the only rules are to not hurt people...Love is the only comandment! But on the basis of christianity i think it has been warped by the church...i used to be about loving god and loving one another, the church started restricting the rules to control people. The bible is a completely patriarchal book and was made by people, admittidly the words are from God...but many of the gospels were mmissed out...the original compiler of the bible picked the gospels and stories which helped to maintain a patriarchal society. God doesn't hate gays he loves all good people.

If &quot;god&quot; created humans, and of all of the animals in the world, only humans have free will.. Which means that only humans have the ability to sin, as it must be a choice in order to be a sin.

They say that homosexuality is a sin, but, there are homosexual animals all over the place. How is it a sin when we do it, when we have as little choice in the matter as they do?


On a side note... A person's interpretation of the words is key to personal understanding.. Take for example the passage that I believe says something like.. &quot;Love thy neighbor as you would love thineself.&quot; Or something like that.. Lets playt with this for a moment.. Take the word love, and apply the more modern definition to it, which would then make it out to be sex.. So, according to the bible, with a modern spin on the words used.. You should all go up to your neighbor and help them beat off.

The answers to this question is simple, but not easy (especially for me).

The bible is very clear that God does not approve of sexual relations between two men. In Leviticus, sex between two men is named &quot;an abomination&quot; alongside incest.

But - you have to take it with a grain of salt. That doesn't mean that it should be taken lightly, or that it can be desregarded because it's the year 2007, but that you need too view the verse the right way.

God loves the sinner, but hates the sin. Homosexual attractions are something that many men have; this is merely a temptation, and there is nothing wrong with it. The problem arises when we give in to that temptation, and have sex with another man. Once this has been done, both men involved have sinned, and while God hates the sin that has been committed, he still loves both men.

If we have homosexual relations, and we repent of that sin with the intention to stop, we are forgiven and needn't worry anymore. There is a problem if someone is in a sexual relationship with another man, and has no intention to stop having sex. If you don't plan to stop, you obviously do not repent, and cannot be forgiven yet.

In short, God and gays can go together. God and unrepented gay sex cannot. That means that if you have gay sex (any number of times) but later repent, meaning that you realize is was wrong, and you have a desire to stop, God is okay with that, through the blood of Christ. However, if you are in an ongoing homosexual relationship and you don't plan to stop, nor do you repent, God has a problem with that.

It's that simple. I don't understand why there are all these people saying that the bible somehow supports/condones gay sex. There's really no room for interpretation - it's very, very clear on this issue.

Well to me I am a gay christian. I think you really can have a meaningful relationship with God and have your life christian and gay. I know it says it may be wrong in the bible but in my heart i truly feel that even if it is seen as something that is frowned upon, it doesn't seem like an issue that will decide heaven or hell, for anyone. I believe God will whole-heartedly accept Gay Christians, if it really is as bad as many percieve it to be than im sure we'll learn from him once we get there, but i do truly believe you won't go to hell for something thats biological and something you can't change about yourself.

the bible is pure hypocrisy. Everything the bible says can be contradicted by another view that's written in it. For instance, Jesus says &quot;in my fathers house, there are many rooms&quot;, and something else, like &quot;no man nor woman, slave nor free, jew nor greek is different, as we are all equal in the eyes of God&quot;. This all works on one side of the argument, but on the other, Jesus also says that &quot;the only way to Heaven is through me&quot;, thus meaning that only Christians can go to heaven. Another contradiction adding to this, is a long list of &quot;sexually imoral&quot; people will never go to heaven, which includes homosexuals, lesbians and adulterers.
