well i just had i fight with one of my good friends about me being gay. i meet him at the movies and he had this chick with him and the whole time i talked to her and all and after she left he said to me "better then a guy huh ry" the whole time i did not no that i was on a date with her. i then tell him to stop this BS and he tells me "Ry god hates queers, u don't want to go to hell do u?" at that i spazzed at him telling him i'm not even christan. in my opinon (no offense to anyone out there) any religon that doesn't allow people to do certain things is not a very good one. sorry if i hit a soft spot to people out there. but i mean it.

I'd seriously recommend anyone who asks the question; "can you be gay and believe in God?" to read "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsch.

It makes you look at God differently to how many organised religions portray him/her, but at the same time allows you to believe/worship God in whichever way you want, even if that means you still follow a particular organised religion.

It brings together all the major religions, and basically says that all the Gods are the same, its just the way the people believe that is different. And it makes you realise how personal each individual persons relationship with God is.

Now on a different note, I want to comment on a few things that have been said on this thread:

Do you seriously think that a Gay teenager would choose to be beaten up, insulted and spat at by his peers. Do you really think that I would choose to love someone that I would be scared to showing affection to in public because I might be beaten up. Do really think I choose to be called the whole range of insults you hear?
Because I don't; its not a choice; its who I am, and thats never going to change. Anyone who says its a choice, try choosing to be gay, you'll soon realise its not as simple as a choice!

Matt2005, i respect you may not be a christian or believe in God, but I would like to say, that the two images you mention, the Holy Communion and the Crucifix are very important to many Christians and are to me as a Catholic; the crucifix is a reminder of sacrifice - christ died so that our sins may be forgiven, but beyond that it is a reminder that even the smallest sacrifice can mean the world when it benefits others. It humbles us, as human beings, as the giving of your life for another is the greatest thing a person can do. And Communion is another reminder of this.

Although slightly Morbid, it helps christians remember the one message from God that is most important, and I think the one that is most important to this Thread; Love.
Love God
Love yourself (though not as much)
but most important
Love everyone around you. No matter who they are!

As for killing a disloyal servant; thats probably old testament. Jesus would have taught to forgive their disloyalty.

I would just like to say that maybe the greeks and the people of that time are not a great example. In that society, men and boys were free to love each other, but would something like that prove beneficial in times such as these.
Also, i don't wish to offend anyone, but i personally don't think that a deity exists. This is not really my reasoning, but look at the question, can gays and god go together? Why would a god create a segment of the population that wouldn't be allowed to worship their creator?
There, i put my two cents in.

I have a bit of an interesting story...
About 3 years ago I really got into the whole spirituality thing and before I knew it I converted to Christianity. Ever since then it has been an uphill battle... with everything... friends, maintaining a relationship with god... blah blah blah... but ever since about a year ago I had been getting the feeling for other guys... I was so confused and I read in the bible that basically, gay people cannot go to heaven, but that didn't stop my feeling at all. Right now, I am at a place in my church that I am so actively involved that I can't get out of it, and I don't really want to, but I do feel like I am living a lie and it feels like crap, so this is where I am heading. I am going to try and find a gay partner and see how everything goes, and I feel that it isn't actually what I am unto then I can remain in the church and just be straight thereon, but if I do enjoy myself hen I am going to make a final decision about everything and I am going o have to b completely open about it and stop going to church, as hard as that will be. It is really confusing going to church and having an awesome time worshiping and stuff, but when you have those reserved emotions, it makes it even harder. I have NO idea what I am going to do, but I hope this is all resolved before anything to bad happens...

hey guys, i've been a gay Christian for as long as I can remember. It was so hard at first, but once I realised God still loves me, I've never looked back

I am agreeing with this dude, because I am a Catholic, and I attend a class every week, and one of the things we talked about was being a homosexual. And what was said in that class is, being gay is not a sin, but the activity is the sin, you know like the having sex before marriage, because it is not legal for gays to get married, which I think is bullcrap. In correction, god made gays, lesbians, and bisexual as he did straight people.

The fact of the matter is basically if got makes everyone to be exactly the same and says that we shouldn't be diffrent why did he makes us Bisexual or Homosexual. It totally out laws the bible. Its a black and white zone for christianity the fact that the bible says its wrong but the fact that we should all love each other no matter what. God only knows that if we weren't ment to be homosexual/bisexual why did he make us this way?
I think the whole consept on the homophobic beliefs should be outruled due to the fact that the bible is a pile of shite anyways and that half the percentage of the world is homosexual.
