From what you've described, I wouldn't be able to say he's gay, and I can't say he isn't. It's most likely just mucking around. Physical contact does happen despite sexual orientation. I'm sorry, but I see not reason not to assume he's straight.

You should be careful of instigating things... If it's a friendship you value, you really wouldn't want to mess it up with this. I also think that I'm missing an important piece of information: does he know that you're gay?.

If he does know, and is still comfortable with the physical contact that you've described, then there's slightly more of a chance he's at least interested in something.

theres this guy on msn ive only known him for about 6 weeks, at first he told me he was straight , so we became mates then after a few weeks he told me he was bi, and i really like him . i told him how i felt the other day and he was so cool about it, a little too cool. he said to me that its ok if i like him and that its a good thing. hes even sang to me down the phone! i like him soo much but im not sure wether he likes me or not.

im off to leeds on sunday where he lives, and he asked me wether i wana meet him or not and said its up to me, hes soo sweet he sends me kisses on msn.
