I had that quote on my myspace for like 2 weeks

Correct!

If you guys are going into fashion, would any of you care to design some new blazers for men's suits? If you look at girl's suits, they are cheap and varied, but men suits are all the same and mostly expencive, and those that aren't expencive aren't good quality. I'm bored of the colours, too: can we bring it back to blue, or make dark green viable again?

I don't care for labels. I haven't heard of most of these people you're talking about. I just wear what I can make look good. A particular pet-hate of mine is when things that look like two seperate layers are in fact a single garment with different material sewed to it, like those polo tops which look like they have a white t-shirt underneith. Or zips that lead to no where.

I often feel like this.

Yeah, but see, thats the difference between style and fashion.

Fashion is what designers and fashion magazines throw at people and tell them whats hip.

Style is what the people wear because of their own choices and cuz they like it.

Both end up being commercialized into the same middle where it ends up in malls.

Urban Outfitters is more style than fashion.
Personally, Im stylish...not fashionable. I buy what looks good, no matter the label. (I have to be able to afford it, of course).

What that guy said is very true, fashion is what retailers serve up on a plate for you, I always think if you go with fashion you'll end up with photos of yourself wearing outfits that you'll regret at a later date. I'm sure our parents have. Style on the other hand should be timeless.

I don't really get what Urban Outfitters is about, It sells clothes with appeal to a young market but at prices only 30 year olds can afford.

Topman's okay for some stuff, although I despise their t-shirt designs.

Vintage clothes shops are good, also a sure fire way of knowing you'll almost certainly never see someone wearing the same item as you. If that matters to you, I know it does to some. I'd describe it as anti fashion, which I think is quite cool in a post modern sort of way.

I'm always outraged when I see 'deconstruction' on items of clothes, if I'm buying new clothes I want to wear them in myself, it also annoys me when it's on an item I'd otherwise want to buy.

DAAAYUM! Is this really what its like in america? Everyone can afford designer labels? This is what you call afllunza. You just have to think , through all this prosperity, who loses? Take a look in the sweatshops in china...

I do most of my shopping at Myer+David Jones. Some of industrie's stuff is nice, mossimo. Marcs has some very sexy stuff, but its not cheap.
