First response i got from a guy was (as listed) 'so who do u fancy?'
I woulda thought he'd had the brains to work out that since he was the first guy Id told and Id known him for such a short time and there were plenty of other people i shouldve told first that the answer to that question was him im gonna see how he reacts if i can get the guts to tell him tomorrow, lol

No, wait, I just remember the funniest response I got ever...Some girl was asking me on MSN what girl I fancied, and kept on grilling me, so eventually I said "I'm gay, and i fancy a boy called hamish is my french class", and here's where I decided that this girl was slower than an aol dial up connection on a windows 95. (Yes, I went there.) she then proceeded to ask me to give her a list of girl's names and one of them be the one I fancy, so I explained to her again that I was gay and fancied a boy called Hamish. Then, she said "oh, okay..." followed by a question asking "so, Hamish is a girl?". I can tell you I couldn't type a response for like five minutes due to the laughing. She is haunted by that saved conversation till this day. And the fact that she broke my dad's curtains in his side room having sex with her girlfriend.

Ooh, first forum post =)
Well the first person I told was my girlfriend at the time - (no! I ain't a pig! I didn't think I was fully gay when i asked her out, honest ) and she was so concerned when i told her 'we need to talk' she thought i'd cheated on her, so yeah she was really calm when i told her, it was relieving
The next person i told was a guy friend of mine (whos also good friends with my ex gf) and he SMS' her goin 'I think he might be gay, but don't tell him, i wouldn't wanna offend him' but she told me anyway and i SMS him sayin 'my amigo, your predilection was valid' and he was actually really really nice about it, he went on about how he was flattered that I trusted him with that information and stuff, we got to be much closer friends.
I told one of my best guy friends and he asked a few times if i was just kidding first, then he asked if i fancied him (which i dont) and then he said its totally cool then. He even wrote me a poem called the best is yet to come =)
My other best friend - this was the behemoth of obstacles - a guy i had known for all my life, literally since the moment i was born. I couldn't do it, it wasn't possible. I got my ex gf (whos also close friends with him) to tell him. He was in shock for like a week, he was scared and couldn't talk to me. It was my birthday the next week, i felt a mixture of depression and anger at how he was handling this, and he bought me a BIG card with you're still my best friend and i still love you along with some inside joke stuff that i just couldn't help but grin like a fool at.
Over time i told more and more people. Is it just me, or does gaydar sharpen once you've come out? Anyhow, that's my long winded story =)

Before I told my best friend I told her that I had to talk to her about something. She thought about what I needed to talk to her about and guessed that I was gay. When I finally worked up the courage to tell her she stopped me before I said it and said, "Stop, I know what you're going to say and I don't care. Hell, I think its awesome!" I don't know if thats really a compliment but I laughed. All I could ask is was I that obvious
When I told my other really close friend she said, "I hope i'm not going to offend you by asking you this, but what kind of girls are you into?" So I laughed for a while and of course I told her, since that was something I was expecting her to ask because thats her personality.

When people at skool first found out (I only let a few people know but it soon spread, which I didn't mind) I got all the usual reactions of "are you actually gay?!" - so I just replied blunty and said "yes", resisting the urge to say sacrastically "no, I just came out as a joke... duhh..."
Pretty much everyone's fine about it - there's the usual sad minority who have a problem with it, but I don't care about them!
The line which I'll never forget is one of my best guy friends sayin to me "suddenly so much about you makes sense!".
It helps that I'm a really laid back kinda person, as I can have a joke and a laugh with people about it which really helps them understand that I'm not a 'wierdo' cos of my sexuality, but just a normal every-day kinda person with a sense of humour.
And since coming out, other people around skool have come up to me and said, actually, I am too! lol.

My one (and only) instancewas when I told my best friend. She was like "...Well, thats cool." Than, it went quiet for a while. Finally, she broke into a grin and said "You know what, I knew it all along!". Than, we broke off into a discussion about how she had a crush on me two years ago, and how she neer had the guts to tell me until now. Lol. Thats preety much it,

hmmm what about mine
lol the first time i came out was in a class sleepover in march this year... we were playing truth or dare and i chose truth and they asked me which girl in the class i'd like to go out with if i had the chance (we're a new class so we're only just getting to know each other) but anyway i hesitated for such a long time that i should imagine it pretty much freaked out all the girls in the class cuz i seem to be the only one taking this so seriously and the girl i named would be scarred for life probably O.o but anyway in the end i said "I'm a homosexual" and they couldn't get it the first time so i repeated myself and there was this huge gasp but in the end they just went back to normal and the game just went on, but after that i realize that after coming out ppl actually have been talking to me more and asking me about homosexuality and stuff and telling me how appreciative they feel that i actually trusted the class enough to tell them even though quite a number are still against homosexuality
i realize that this is supposed to be a thread about things said when i come out and i've been off track =) so here are what my 4 best friends (all guys) said when i came out to them 2 weeks ago
- "are you trying to come out of the closet?" (i told him i had something to tell him and i was hesitating for practically 5 minutes)
-"being gay is quite normal isn't it?"
-"even though you're a gay you're still our friend ok?"
-"so, tell us who your crushes are!!! =D"
-"why were you so scared to tell us?"
and so on, you get the drift i'm so happy i could hug them all (wipes tears of joy)

QUOTE: Ok, but if you do anything with kids you're not my son
I was like, since when does homo mean pedo!?
