Mozart Piano Concerto No. 23
Richard Wagner Prelude to Das Rhiengold
James Horner The New World (eheh not classical)

I'm enjoying those right now, they're all featured in the The New World.

Besides my love for metal...

I always had a love for classical as well. I like mostly 20th century avant-garde stuff, like Schoenberg, Stravinsky or George Crumb. I also like late-romantic and romantic stuff like Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and the such.

I play the piano, organ, bassoon, saxophone and guitar.

I have always had a love for classical music.

I've played classical guitar for years. I love Fernando Sor, Leo Brouwer, Bach, and Schumann. Great stuff, more contemporary classical stuff, but just as great to play and listen to

I have played violin and cello for the past 6 years... and probably my alltime favorite piece is symphony nr. 7 by Beethoven. Or symphony nr. 8 allegro vivace by beethoven..
I don't know. I think I just love beethoven. Mostly his orchestral pieces.... Yeah.. probably.

My favourite piece of classical music is 'Perpeptum Mobile' by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, second to that is Adiago for strings (the club go'ers favourite. But for the in general my favourite composer is Hans Zimmer, I love film scores.

I play saxophone, piano, and a tad bit of clarinet, and also sing.

I love Debussy mainly for piano music. It's amazing... I've played Clair de Lune and Arabesque No. 1 (love!), and enjoy his works so much...

I also love Rachmaninoff - particularly Prelude in C# minor, which I played for piano contest last year (who can resist the insanity of that song?).

Someone mentioned Bushdance upthread - I'm pretty sure I played that at an honor band this year. Also, An American Elegy by Frank Ticheli... well, if I'm thinking of the right song, it has a nice sentiment, but is used waaaaaaay too much. I've heard/played it at several honor bands, and it's starting to drive me nuts.

For choral music - Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, and Eric Whitacre (!) pretty much rock my world. Cloudburst, anyone?

Nobody mentioned Haydn! What a shame. He's definitely my favourite, and my favourite pieces are Cello Concerto No.1 in C major, String Quartet in G major Op.33, No.5 and String Quartet in B Flat major op.33 no.4. (What can I say, I love those strings )
I'm also a fan of most Baroque era music, with Bach and Vivaldi as definite favourites.

Can't beat Haydn's Horn Concerto, or the SURPRISE! Symphony.

Mine'd probably be Antonín Dvořák and his 9th symphony (New World Symphony)
