i am really sad to hear all these fellow gay teens say that they would rather be straight. I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand completely how you feel, but I just think that it's sad that you would want to be on the other side. I mean, both sides are equal, no matter what anyone thinks. We were created the way we are for a reason, and we should be proud of the fact that we like members of the same sex. I've actually sort of come to resent some straight people and straight couples, because they act as though, you know, being straight is so cool and so great, and they have a certain arrogance about it. Being gay is a gift, and I want everyone here to remember that. I think being gay is better than being straight, quite honestly. I wouldn't change it for the world.

and hey, believe me, if anyone would have a reason to want to be straight, I could have it. I want to be in American politics, and unfortunately being gay makes my chances of success less probable. Politics is my passion, it's my goal in life. But if I had the choice, I wouldn't even think for a second: i'd be gay. Because theres something so special about a gay relationship. A gay relationship is so much closer than a straight relationship, I think. I don't know what it is, but I think gay men understand each other alot better, and feel closer to each other than straight men do to women. As I said, I think it's a gift; and I think about it in this way: we have something so special, and straight people do not.

Who gives a damn about what other people say or do: sure, things may get rough sometimes, but its worth it in the end. We are special, and we must never forget that.

and plus, if I do make it to where I eventually want to be, the White House , I will have achieved something much greater than just being President, and I would have done a service to somebody other than myself. I would have made history and helped break down the prejudices and bigotry that still exists in our culture, and I would also be a strong voice for the GLBT community.
