i'm not sure who mentioned this, i think it was Ellen. anyways, she said that as homosexuals our natural desire is for someone of the same sex, and if we were to go after someone of the opposite sex, we'd be going against our nature.
so why is it that if a heterosexual decides to have sex with someone of the same sex its a sin, but if a homosexual decides to have sex with someone of the opposite sex its the way its supposed to be?
i dont know if i made sense, but i tried.

What sucks is when you take pride in your religion but your religion does not take pride in you. I am a [proud]Christian and a homosexual. It's such a sore subject with me. I've grown up in a very religious town. Went to a Christian grade school, go to a Christian church, and then come to find out I'm gay and my religion does not support me. I've heard and read in many places that people "choose" to be gay to rebel against God. I know this to be false because I've always felt myself close to God. Only since I've come to truley realize myself as Gay, has my relatioship with my heavenly father become weaker. I know I did not choose to be gay, I just know I didn't. It just doesn't make sense to me why God would condem me for being this way. But when I think about it, God wouldn't do that, so maybe I did choose to be gay? No.
Like I said, totally complicated. But I do think Homosexuals can be Christians.

Yeah, I'm also a Lesbian and a Christian.
I have no trouble being both, because every mention of it being a negative in the Bible has a logical explanation on how it's being misinterpreted or just totally bunk.
The only actual issues with homosexuality and Christianity is Christians who have been brought up only to memorize scripture and not actually study it and homosexuals who hate/fear Christians because many persecute us.
The religion itself isn't the problem. It's more like homosexuals vs Christians, not homosexuality vs Christianity, y'know?
I'm training to be a Christian councilor, and being gay doesn't disrupt my connection with God or my religion in general because I know that God doesn't have a problem with me, and any other "Christian" who does hasn't read their scriptures properly and doesn't truly abide by the Golden Rule, Love your neighbors as yourself.
God made me gay and he gave me the strength to fight ignorance.

Ever since I found out that I'm gay I haven't been as close to God, though I'm really trying. Reading all the comments here have convinced me that there's nothing wrong with me. Thanks to everyone that posted, I feel renewed.
I don't know about the rest of Christianity, but here in SA parts of the church have announced that they accept gays, just not homosexual acts. Thats like telling a dog not to bark. So yes, I am feeling a little aggressive towards the church. I'll work on that, promise.
This may be inappropriate, but I find that whole thing about us being here to reproduce hilarious. I imagine the church promoting sperm donation and actively encouraging relationships with the opposite sex since puberty. Disturbing. Sorry, my strange sense of humour makes its appearance once more.

This may sound silly but catholicism teaches that being homosexual means that Gods will for you is that of a life of chastity. This is because if you have sex outside of marriage it is considered adultary and since men cannot get married to one and other inside the catholic church then it means that you can't have sex.
But yes, if you're christian you can be a homosexual. but miss out on the sex. Well, you can have sex, but you're going to hell
But, Im a commited athiest so idc what they teach

It depends. If by Christian you simply mean someone who believes in Jesus as Savior/God/etc... I guess it can work. But if you believe in the whole Bible I don't see how its possible since in some Bibles it speaks negatively of homosexuality. (I am not a Christian so it really does not matter for me )
