Iam sorry guys.... I have to be contraversial on this topic. Age is an important topic ecspecially when it come to matters of a sexual nature. We need to be more precise on the whole issue of law. I myself am 18 and If I were to engage in any sexual activity with anyone younger than myself and were caught then I would suffer the full extent of the law because its statutory rape!!!! That means that I would go to prison and get raped by some guy named Big Bobo - Hyperthetically speaking.
My biggest problem is the fact that I have a 13yr old nephew and I see how young he is and it bothers me that anyone my age could even look at a 13yr.
Iam not saying that there are not special circumstances when it come to true love and you know you never going to leave each. But the whole fact is that there is a vast diffrence in the emotional, physical and phycology aspects. Lets be true with ourselves and acknowledge that when we were 13, we did not know what or where we were going.

I agree with this for the most part. I'm 17, and I know a 13 year old or 2, and I can't fathom ever "being "with them.

Remember, 15 will get you 20! (In this case....13 will get you 20)

Sure it's nice to say that age doesn't matter and as long as you both are happy, but let's get real for a moment shall we? There is a difference from a 23 year old and a 27 year old going out as to a 13 and a 17 year old going out. Maturaity aside, the fact that the person is so young. Age gaps mean less when it involves people who are both like 18 or 20+.

exactly, I guess thats the point I was trying to make when I said there is a difference betwen 23 and 27 and 17 and 13.

On one hand, one could say "Age doesn't matter unless you make it matter"
but I can only really say that when both parties are 18+. There are laws for a reason, and that is too not let the younger generation get in over their head, I mean, they don't just make these laws because they think age matters so much. When somone is just starting to mature, they are going to change as a person, reguardless if they want to believe it or not.

I don't care if you want to say a 13 year old can be as mature as an 18 year old, it's not true. People can come off as more mature, but in the end, they arn't, physically and mentally.

So in the end, I don't mind being flamed at for thinking age matters, but as somone who is just about to turn 18 in a couple months, I can't even imagine being with a 13-14 year old, it's borderline petiphilia in my mind.

edit- Oh yeah, and...a lot of the reason I say this, is because the fact that there is even a thread about this, and you guys decieving your friends kind of throws up red flags, as if you guys actually do think age is an issue, and are trying to justify it by making this thread....just my 2 cents

I think it sucks for us teens because we're basically told was is and isn't allowed by society. It's like they're trying to mold us into sumthing. In all honesty, ppl that like each other shouldn't have to feel different due to age gaps/differences. The other siden of that is of course with older ppl the ability to take advantage of sumone. It's a crazy world we live in where even affection and love are bound by restrictions.

Well, I'd go out with Alex (the 12)... I mean it's that I'm 14 and that's not legal I hear? Drat it! Neway... When I was 11 I went out with a 14 year old (back when I was str8). I've got nothing wrong with it.

I think it's legal, but not legal to have sex... But &quot;no one&quot; defines their relationship on sex

I think the law has it right. I mean - to sleep with someone under 16 i think can have psychological and emotional repercussions.

I know when i was 15 (hell im only 17 now) I wanted sex - i didnt get any, like all these other young guys im hearing about - and now im glad that i didnt.

Personally - I think, (to the original poster) youre right about not having sex. You should wait.

Just imho.

Basically what everyone said - 17 - 13 - too big a gap.

whatever.....if your both happy with each other then who cares...life is too short....just enjoy it with someone you love.
