Haha, well attraction's always been, probably always be subjective.
Ages ago, everyone saw chub as a sign of wealth and health. Cause in those days, the chubby were the rich. Those who could afford food and a high living standard. The rugged, toned and tanned bodies of the workers and farmers were unattractive to say the least. Or when paleness and shaved eyebrows was attractive in women and stuff...
In other countries, you'll find that they have completely different tastes when it comes to attraction. And go not too long back when crazy puffy affros and fluro-bell bottoms was hot... Yeeeaaahhh...

*vommit*
You can kind of see a trend with eras and cultures too. The stereotypes of the most of Western culture's precepts of what 'attractive' should be are pretty pronounced, although obviously, you'll find many who have a more acquired taste. In just Sydney, taste is diverse, and can revolve not only on weight, but race/ height/ culture/ fashion, and heaps more. So yeah, tonnes of variation.
It's hard to say anything factual about whether or not being skinny is attractive, cause it all depends on subjective taste and preference. There are those who'd love skinny guys. There are those who like the toned

, and those who like chub on their partners. No one can really tell anyone what "attractive" is. "Health" is whole other issue.
I suppose the only way to determine "Which is the most attractive" to a certain sexuality/ gender, is to survey each and every individual, dividing them by gender and sexuality (to know which one is more attractive to gay/ straight males/females). So in the end, all that the "fact" is gonna be based on, are the numbers of the majorities/ minorities on the results.
But no one's about to go off and pull off a survey that vast

.
Just go for what you think is appropriate for you, avoiding unhealthy amounts of vanity and insecurity as much as possible on the way. Well, you must have your own opinion on what looks good, and just from my experience, I find that it's better to go on what YOU want to look like, rather than asking people what you SHOULD look like. It's hard to live up to everyone's expectations all the time.
