advice for coming out, please help 1 Year ago
I'm 16 and I feel like it's time to not be afraid of who knows that I'm gay. I've been looking for a way to get it off my chest, when suddenly my English teacher assigned a classroom speaking project on something that has greatly affected your life in a positive way. I thought this could be the chance to let the truth be known, however I don't know if i'm making the right choice or not. Please help.

any moment which includes one person or more who is/are willing to listen to you as you share something about can be a potential moment to come out......

but "potential" moments are not the same as the "right" moment to come out,
the right moment to come out is when you are pretty sure about your orientation....
coming out for most gay/bi teens is the most difficult experience they life, for the simple reason that when we come out.....we prepare ourselves for the worst which can happen after we come out.......make sure you keep in mind the worst that can happen...and that you can deal with whatever happens.....be strong always and nothing will hold you from being happy

only you can understand if you are doing the right choice or not....all the rest of us can only support you in what you decide to do

I wish you the best of luck
loads of love,
Keith

thanks dude for the advice. I really think it's time to come out. Hidding it has been a big pain and is making me feel like I'm ashamed of it. So I say no more!

Post edited by: lonewolf007, at: 2007/08/17 14:01

If you mean coming out in a presentation or something in front of the class - I think that's a really bad idea. I'd talk to people individually at first, because going your way might shock a lot of people and cause a lot of negative reactions.

thank you for your option, but I have already made up my mind to go along with it. I'd rather fell comfortable telling a classroom where the teacher has the power to quite them, then in the middle of a crowd of many people.
