Role Model Help 1 Year, 2 Months ago
OK, so on Wednesday I saw the pilot of Heroes. And i loved it.
Long story short, I've seen about half of it now.

*****Spoiler Warning ish*****

Anyway, one character in it was hinted at being gay (to the point that if he said "I am gay", it wouldn't be a surprise but would be pointless). Zach. Anyway, by the end of the episode "Homecoming", I found myself liking his character (not least of all because he's cute), thinking that if he is OK in his skin, then when school starts after summer I would be happy coming out.
And i was seriously thinking about it.
But then something happened to his character and his friend, and it kinda threw me... then he left the show, after NBC tried to make his character more straight, by removing gay subtleties or whatever.
So by this point, very short time frame albeit, I've gone and lost the only gay role model character or whatever I had. And now I don't really feel like being out at school anymore.

So that's a pointless post, but something interesting for me to think about anyway.

be your own role model, and set an example so you can become a role model for the other colested people at school.

lol I know what you mean, I really liked the Zach character he was happy to be who he was and I thought the show was actually making a positive statement. Then Clare left school, everyone lost their memories and Zach was never on the show again, lol. I thought it was alittle weird but that makes sense if the network tryed to downplay the message.

If you're looking for a role model have you ever heard of the show Six Feet Under? It had a gay character in it who was about 30 and although he wasn't really a role model, as such, the show had heaps of really good episodes of him dealing with his sexuality which made me feel more sure about myself. It's all in season one of Six Feet Under which is an all round awesome show if you can get it where you live. I helped me so it might help you
