Hey!
I'm currently in a long distance relationship. I live in the West Midlands area of England and my boyfriend is Belgian living near Leuven. We see each other as frequently as we can but up until June we're both at university so we generally have to wait until university breaks up for holidays - Easter, Christmas etc... We do speak a lot online using MSN and IRC which obviously helps. But we've been together now for about 14 months so it's not impossible to have a LDR. It's not easy; it's probably harder to maintain than a relationship with someone that lives nearby, but it's by no means impossible.

hey. im gonna be pretty blunt to u. ive tried a long distance relationship, and it didnt work at all. i think it could only work if u can both drive/can travel easily, and if ur out. mine failed coz neither of us were out, and coz i live near london, and he lives near cardiff, and neither could drive, and neither had a reaon to go to the other side of the country apart from to meet up. however, a LDR can work if ur willing to 'go the extra mile', as it were, and if ur out/ have a genuine reason to travel that far.
i dont reeli know how to make that make more sense reeli, so if u need to chat, got my msn addy from my profile. im not climin to be an expert, but im pretty gd at listenin.

I've tried it.
Unless you're planning to move closer within the next 6 months, it's a waste of your and his time.
Don't do it!

i am currently in a ldr with my cutest bf who happens to live in uk and i in canada. i no that to some ppl, it may be a waste of time, but i mean, love is love, regardless of how far away u are, whether it be 10km or a million, the bond between two individual is just too strong. I love my bf to death, and i mean ill do anything for him, we even have future plans, so my suggestion is to go into whatever relationship, whether local or long distance, but the main factor is to love him with ur heart and be the best person u can be.

Long distance relationships work if they are about the emotional side of things, if your a very physical person or want something a bit physical then i hope you have a webcam lol. I've had quite a few with one that had visits here and there. I dnt mind them cuz its the knowing someone loves you makes you feel gr8. Its a really good friendship that keeps you emotional stable lol.
Although if your communicating through like msn and txt based things it leaves out the personality and you can really make a false personality for the person if you've never met, and then when you hear them speak and act they are tottaly diferent to what you thought. So its best to actually get to the know the person first face to face or over the phone.
