Best 1st Person Shooter. 5 Months ago
So whats best??? Well i was once a big fan of Doom then the Medal Of Honour series, but the i got my PS3 and the game i brought 4 it was Call Of Duty 3 which was amazing, then i got Call Of Duty 4 which was even better. Im now hooked on the COD series. So it is my favourite 1st Person Shooter. Cant wait 4 COD 5.

COD4 awesome but I'm still pretty partial to Half-life 2 although zombies get on my nerves but theres nothing more satisfying then slaughtering an alien with a toilet or decapitating a mutant with a circular saw.

STALKER. Even in it's rather unpolished state. COD4 is more a movie than a game, after I finished it the first time, I saw no reason to replay. It's online gaming is typical, and it's 'unlock' ability system, the only thing that sets it apart, drags it down. Crysis is inarguably the best graphics from a game at the moment (PC all the way baby ), but dull repetitive gameplay.

STALKER Clear Sky, scheduled for a late August release, will rock your socks, in terms of atmospheric graphic, it's unparalleled full-life dynamic AI, fight-for-territory gameplay, adding many more hours of replayable gameplay over such narrow releases such as the COD series or any future attempt to make the next Crysis-type game a little more 'free'. It's already established modding community, given that the ground work of Clear Sky will be the same as in the first STALKER, will make for some experienced modders providing greatness, and quickly.

Uraaaaaa!!!!

Crysis has the best mechanics for me, but it's way too short and ends up with alien crap after a couple blown up villages, and once the suit novelty has worn off can be dull.

CoD4 i havn't played but everyone calls it the best, so i need to try it sometime, although i wasn't too impressed with CoD 2 & 3.

Halo 3 is great for xbox fanboys, otherwise is just an average fps really.

I think the original CoD is still the best fps i've played.

Bioshock. No other FPS has done story so well, and the game is just really amazing

Probably the last FPS I played was Medal of Honour: Allied Assault on my PowerBook several years ago. It was frustratingly hard.

I do have a friend with a PS3 though and have seen games like COD3/4 and they look amazing. I could get addicted to them fast I reckon.

Of the current generation - probably CoD4

Of all time... too tough to pick. I remember playing Goldeneye on 64 like mad though =P
