[Alright everyone. This is a yaoi I wrote a while back, taking place around Meiji era Japan I think? It's supposed to have a romantic feel with a theme around Rurouni Kenshin and Peacemaker. This is kinda only an excerpt, but yeah! You should definately comment and tell me what you think of it~ Anyways, have fun!]
There was a swift sound that would go through the air as a long, black yukata would turn with the figure that was now headed down the distant path. He was trying to get away fast. As fast as he could, Zetsuei Ryuga wanted to put as much distance between him and his dojo as possible. He knew that his team-mates were waiting for him there. They would celebrate with sake' and the works. But what was there to celebrate? Sure, they had completed the assignment, their most difficult one yet, but at what cost? Zetsuei had killed an innocent young girl in the crossfire. Even though only one person knew of this other than himself, it was still hard for him. Not only had he killed for his work, but the person that knew of his accident was the most important person in his life.
He couldn't bear to see the look on the other's face. The disapointment and astonishment...
But as Zetseui would brush his somwhat long, silver hair out of his face, the long, red headband around his forhead flowing behind him, he could only stop. His eyes were fixated on the desolate figure in front of him.
"Zetsu..." a voice called to him solemnly. It had long, black hair flowing in its face. Normally, it would be tied in a ponytail behind him, but he had it down, covering half of his face.
"Why..." was all that came from Zetseui. "Why did you follow me? To tell me how horrible I am? To remind me of my awful crime? I don't care if it was an accident, I killed her! I KILLED THAT LITTLE GI-"
But as he spoke, obviously immensely worked up only by his own guilt combined with the pressure of the other's presence, he was interrupted by a firm grasp around his torso. The figure hugging him was obviously shorter than he was, but had a swift movement and a tight grip.
"Zetsu-kun... It's okay.." he whispered lovingly.
Zetsuei could feel streams along his face now, unable to hug the other back. Unable to even look at him. "But.... Katsuna.."
Katsuna Aoyagi, the short, thin, rather scrawny, but immensely strong leader of Renai League, their squad, had his head against Zetsuei's heartbeat. It was quick and vigorous. But as he held him close, it would slowl down. It would calm.
"It's okay, Zetsu-kun.."
That was all Zetseui needed to hear from him.
A hand would brush the long, black hair from Katsuna's face, and Zetsuei's face would lean down to Katsuna's level. Their eyes would close, and their lips would gingerly meet in their loving embrace. It was as if all of the pain and guilt that had previously been welling up inside of Zetseui's was gone, all because of the presence of his beloved. Katsuna was his savior.
"I love you.." he would say to Katsuna as he pulled away, smiling.
He could only smile to Zetseui. "C'mon. They're all waiting."
And, naturally, after the celebration held in the dojo of the Renai League, Zetseui and Katsuna would end up together on the stairs leading up to the temple far behind the dojo. Along its path were beautiful sakura trees, the petals of the cherry blossoms flowing calmly. And it was perfect for them.
Katsuna was lying against Zetseui's chest, feeling his wamrth against his face. He would kiss the flesh, smiling and closing his eyes. Zetseui had his arms around him lovingly, both of them under a silk blanket, lying on the stairs leading up to the forgotten temple. Any stress, pain, guilt, or agony that either of them held previously was obviously erased. The moment was perfect.
